***No More "Ho Ho Ho's For Santa***

United States

I heard this on the radio this morning and I thought is this crazy or what? In Australia they are outlawing Santa Claus to say "Ho Ho Ho" to the children because some people feel it's degrading to women. I'm like What????????! I can't believe they are serious about this matter, now come on! Santa is only allowed to say "Ha Ha Ha" now instead. So that got me to thinkin.....what about Hostess Ho Ho's...are they going to have to change the name on that to?..HaHa! Come on people, I'm just losin it here with this.....Can you believe it?.....Or is it just me?.....Do you agree with this?

My sentiments exactly, after all this time, why change it now....I can't figure all this out anymore. The radio channel made it sound like it was a huge amount of people complaining.

Outlawed or not people are still going to say 'Ho Ho Ho!', nothing can stop that.

Sure, people can say it there, but none of the Santa's are allowed to.....such a shame and totally ridiculous to me.

When I first heard this I couldn't even imagine why HO,HO,Ho was so bad..and I'm a woman. It just goes to show you the kind of minds some people have. They can only think bad and have nothing better to do but create simple minded problems and stir up trouble. I'm certainly not naive but never in a million years would I associate that word with Santa saying it and degrading women. Give me a break already....totally absurd and this should have never happened at all.

It is high time for people who are still able to think to stand up and shout, "screw being politically correct". Ho, Ho, Ho it is and we are not talking about New Jersey women basketball players, or their hair. One of the building supply / home products stores in my area (Lowe's) came out with a display of "Family Trees". Like so many, they were afraid to say Christams trees. That is pathetic. If a store is going to be that wimpy, they do not deserve the busines. djbtol

Lowe's did that??..You've got to be kidding!...I was just thinking the other day I wonder if they'll outlaw the word Christmas, and here you are telling me this. I can't believe it anymore. I was telling another person here I wonder if they'll have a problem with Rudolph's Red Nose being that it lights up and all. You know what those Red Lights on top of houses mean....better watch out!

You know you might want to start a discussion on that Lowe's Family Tree's crap if you like....it might be interesting to see the results from that one.

I couldn't beleive this other, I show it on my Yahoo start up page and I thought to myself this is really really crazy. How can you take something so traditional and turn it int something so so out of this world. This been part of christmas for more then I can remember and beyond. Now they want santa to say Ha Ha Ha(this is bullcrap) if women(so called as they say) is having such a problem with this way what are they(women with the them of saying HO HO HO)saying to their kids when they ask why is santa saying something different? And another thing is what do the think the traditional cartoons going to do change their script?! I think not. Plus if your self esteem is getting that low why make it a nations problem. Why? That was and is really crazy and I'm not changing what it. (As a women I think they need to really think what they are doing and saying because this whole thing is outraged over nothing) Let Santa keep is HO HO HO he only have for 30 days.

Pretty soon they will take the word tradition and ban it also....there won't be any traditions left and that not only enrages me, it scares me at the same time. They just keep picking and picking and picking, and we all suffer for it. It seems we have no say so in anything anymore, just the minority does, because it hurts their little feelings. I guess the most famous words will be Bah Humbug because there will be no celebrations soon enough.....what a sad thought for all the children growing up now.

I agree that does sound ridiculous. Santa is how old now, and been saying "ho ho ho" for how long now? A LOT longer then it became some kind of slang that degrades women that's for sure! Hope it's not true because I couldn't imagine a Santa saying anything else to be honest! Luv & Hugzz, Your Friend, PurpleTeddyBear

What the HE!L is this world coming to. If I see santa and he says HA HA HA I think I will have to make the biggest scean I can.

I think it's going a bit to far myself.....Traditions will be a thing of the past soon and that is the saddest thing I could ever imagine. These radicals are just going to take away all our little pleasantries and we'll be like a bunch of rotten robots walking this earth, with nothing to say to anyone, for fear it will upset the minor few that have low self esteem and a few other issues I don't even want to mention. How sad this is.

Well there is comfort in knowing that us American's don't have a lock on that kind of stupidity. So much for being comfortable - this means stupidity is worldwide and obviously growing - what kind of world will out grandchildrend have to look forward to? A silent santa, no christmas carols or decorations, a universal greeting - happy holidays that will cover Easter, Memorial day, Thanksgiving, CHristmas, Halloween and Dyngus day. No, I don't agree with it ..if you are insulted by Santa - get a new garden tool or change your profession!

I know, I have a 8 month old Granddaughter and with this happening, I just wonder what it's going to be like when she's grown up. How sad this world is becoming. Even family values are dissapating, all along with traditions of any sort, just because a few people don't agree. Everyone in the end will suffer from all this foolishness going on. There will be nothing left.

My cousin had the best response to this... and I quote! "If the word Ho offends you.... then don't be one! Santa was around a long time before you were!" I laughed so hard I almost cried! This coming from one of the most politically correct people I know.

First they want to make santa skinner and then they want him to say ha ha ha instead? What's next have santa shave off his beard because it offends Bums? or remove red because its a fashion crime? If this keeps up santa will look so different it won't even be funny.

Pretty soon there will be no more traditions of any kind because it offends somebody. I'd like to know why a few people can be allowed to get this passed, when the majority disagree on it. I don't get it, see, it use to be majority rules, I guess that's changing too.

"Guilty conscience?" People who are so called outraged by this, are just way to hypersensitive and perhaps self conscious. Santa's ho ho ho is just showing a sign of being jolly it is in no way meant to be derogatory to women, I'm glad other people have heard and are confused by this story. Huh??!?

This is ridiculous. If this is true, then people are taking this a little too far. First Santa has to loose weight to set a better example, and now he can't say ho ho ho??? I am all for political correctness and doing our best not to offend, but this is taking things too far. What next, he can't come down the chimney because it's a fire hazard?

Yikes, that has got to be the dumbest thing I ever heard of. What? All of a sudden after how many decades, centuries, whatever, Santa Claus now has to be "politcally correct" and not offending? Nope you're not losing it, those folks that want to outlaw Santa Claus from saying Ho, Ho, Ho are losing it!

You know Pye, I don't know if these people stay up all night trying to figure out how to make the most of their dull boring lives by trying to make everybody miserable. I guess it's the year to pick on Santa now, they've picked on almost everything else already....he's a nice bright red target, so why not.......uh oh, Rudolph better watch out too......you know what those red lights mean, lol!
