What is USB? What is USB with MP3?

My boss said, he will buy me a USB. We will be using that instead of floppy disk. And another he asked me if i want with MP3. I am sorry i don't know about USB, so i just answered yes. Can you help me with this? Can you explain the job of USB? and why does it have an MP3?

Now a days everybody is using USB in place of floppy disk.There are many benefits of using USB as we can copy more data in USB in campariosn of floppy disk.Any data we want to copy in USB is like the same procedure of floppy.
