I prefer artificial christmas trees. I like them cause they are reusable, they do not smell like pine( I hate that smell), And they are not a fire hazard. You also do not have to pick up pine needles for the next uear after you takethem down. What is your opinion?

I do love the real trees. I like the smell, it makes it feel more like Christmas. However, I have an artifical tree because I don't like the hassle of a real one. The pine needles drive me crazy and then you have to get rid of it at the end of Christmas. It's just so much more work and just for the smell. If someone else would deal with the needles and the tree disposal I would get a real tree, but until then, I'm going to still to the fake one.

I'm in two minds - I like the idea of a real tree....the smell of it an the excitement of buying one every year in preparation for the big day. But practically, an artificial one is probably better...the shape is better (more pointy at the top than real ones) and yes, you can pack it away and re-use it saving yourself a small fortune!

I also prefer the reusable christmas tree. Our artificial christmas tree is already with us for more than 8 years. Real christmas tree is fine, but I dont like the idea of cutting the tree just for some weeks use only.

It is very difficult to get a pine tree in my country. Many people just decorate any tree that is available in their garden. Some people cut down branches of a tree with needle shaped leaves and use it, but it looks ugly after some time. I purchased an artificial tree and decorations for it a couple of years back, and I am happy with it. It suits me fine.

I like the artificial as well. I like the smell but to me is just waste to cut a tree for just few days. I payed good money for my tree which is very realistic looking and I am going to use that one for years. I have only once had a real tree because my uncle decided to get us one and man it was a pain in the behind.

I always use a fake tree I am also afraid of the high fire hazzard that real ones cause. Hopefully those that buy real ones will also buy The Guardian Angel invented by the firefighter on American Inventor. Picking up pine needles for months afterwards is not my idea of fun either. I think it is the way you decrotate the tree that makes it look beautiful no if it is real or fake.

I love real pine trees, and used to get balled and burlapped ones (for planting) for many years. Then as my girls got older, they always wanted the tree up earlier, so I caved and got an artificial tree so that I wouldn't have to worry about it drying out and becoming a fire hazard. I do miss the pine smell though...so, I go into my woods and cut some pine branches to decorate with. Nowadays, some of the artificial ones are sooooooo realistic looking that the average person cant tell the difference. (That's the kind of fake one I bought, and I'm glad I did because it's not as messy, plus it saves me gobs of money each year!)

I'm the absolute opposite I like the smell of our tree (not pine - but I do not know the english word). It is one of the things that makes it feel like Christmas to me. I sometimes think that it is not a very nice custom to cut down trees and use them just for a few weeks. I might decide not to do it, but then I will not replace it with an artificial one. It's just not the same for me. Then I prefere some other kind of decoration instead. I think where we are from influences our choice on this. Here it is not very common to have the artificial trees. I do not know anyone that has one - other than a small one in their kids room. I am sure they are fine once you get used to them.

I prefer an artifical tree. its easy to maintain. when u get tired of it. u can just cover it without removing the decorations with some plastic. pine trees are a pain. U have to keep watering them, u run the risk of getting a pine stuck in your foot. They are hard to clean especially if u have carpet on your floor.

I'm like you and prefer artificial ones, because you can reuse them over and over, their neater as they don't drop pine needles, and I'm not a fan of the smell. You don't have to go and buy them every year and throw them away. Real trees are too much work and since in family there's no kids anymore since I'm an only child turning 18, all we need is a small artificial one and leave it to my uncle and aunt to buy a real one and go help them decorate it and stuff, since thats where we celebrate Christmas.

I prefer an artificial tree. I often leave my tree plugged in for hours at a time and do not want to worry about it being a fire hazard. I also do not like the smell of pine and do not want to be out in the cold picking out a tree. Real trees just don't look as pretty and are often oddly shaped and have bare spots. I'll never put a real tree in my house.
