Cats behavior and thoughts?

I have a friend who my cat hates! She's never done anything to her to deserve this treatment( in fact when we go away on trips she comes over and feeds them) and was curious to know why she so detests her. Every time (the cat) sees ( the Friend) she starts a screaming fit and won't stop till she leaves! Although my friend does have cats, I have other friends with cats who visit all the time and my cat likes them. Any thoughts?

Could it be the friend carries a smell the cat doesn't like such as a dog odor in addition to her own cats? Maybe you can read one of those small cat books they carry at the grocery store and get some ideas.

She doesn’t have any dogs. My mom says its because Fuzzy connects her with me going away because she is the one who feeds them when I'm gone.

I believe your mother is right. Anxiety separation causes animals to act a little bizarre.

i kinda agree with your mother. your cat might associate the loneliness of you being away with your friend. coz your cat sees your friend often when you are not around. so seeing your friend reminds her of the loneliness. another reason, though it's rather mean to say this, is that your friend might not have been treating your cat well. maybe she'd forget to come over to feed your cat sometimes. so your cat is resentful. this is an extreme view though.

For some reason animals know more about people than we do. Your cant may sense something about the person that you dont. My dog rarely chases or barks at people but one day one of my son's friends came into our house and my dog took an instant dislike to this person. The dog was right! Take care.
