Both my husband and I are 5' tall and we were sure my son would be short too, but to our amazement he has turned out to be nearly 6 feet tall. So two negatives make a positive. he he.

I agree with crafty corner.
If someone's grandparents, great grandparents, or aunts and uncles (biological ones) are average to tall, there is a possibility you could be average height or maybe tall. But also make sure that the person in question gets all the proper nutrition. Because if they have the gene to be taller than her parents, and she gets very poor nutrition/not enough nourishment, she may not get as tall.
There is nothing wrong with being petite. The grass is always greener. Tall people want to be short and short people want to be tall. Height really does not matter. Its all about self esteem

Petite parents can produce tall children. Tall parents can produce tiny children. The facts are that you don't just have your parent's genetics. You have their genetics, and their parents' genetics, back on through the ages. There is always a chance you will show the genetics of an ancestor two or three generations or perhaps further back down the line. That ancestor could have carried a recessive gene that could prove to be a complete joker in the genetic deck too, and give you a trait your family has NEVER seen before.
