I am here to talk about the newest version of the Windows Operating System which is Windows vista which I have had some time in using and I think that it is a smart operating system for the major computer manufactures because they now can rely on everyone having to buy a new computer unless you had a really top of the line computer with Windows Vista being considered the next ME Microsoft is going to have to launch another Operating System or something because a lot of people that got there computers with Vista on them either went back to Windows Xp or they made the switch I made to Ubuntu. I never bought Vista I just switched to Ubuntu and everyone I know hates it or dislikes it and if they still have it always talk about how they can't get there Windows Xp Apps to work right or they don't work at all. Microsoft use to be my favorite company but now I hope it and Linux switch so then the world can see what Ubuntu can do. I want to know what you think about it

I personally have been using Vista since June and have had no problems with it at all, in fact it has worked better for me than most anything else I've ever used. it does take some getting used to but after you use it awhile its not bad at all!

I am just so use to Ubuntu now that I realized how unorganized Windows is and well that is the problem I know run into when I go back to use a Windows computer I like Ubuntu on my laptop and Windows Xp on my Desktop. My friend that has Vista said it was the Second Version of ME and he is now thinking of buying a Macbook cause the Desktop is his parents and well. He doesn't like Windows cause he likes creating music and well OS X is better for that type of stuff and Windows is for Anyone but Music Creators. Look at all the producers they all use Mac and not Windows just like all Computer Programmers use Linux hence why I like Linux so much so I am bias and I like your answer. You just gave balance to this discussion. I have a question is there a way to turn off the startup apps (Not the Widget thing)

Vista isn't too bad actually...but like you said, a lot of applications don't run well on it The computer manufacturer have no choice, but to follow the tide...As long as Microsoft comes up with a new OS, they would have to have it on their new PCs...But, fortunately, consumers get to choose if they want XP or Vista... I bought a new laptop recently, and it was preinstalled with Vista (even though I'm not too fond of it). The reason for this is, if I don't like it, I can always reinstall WinXP on it...This way, I can have both OS, rather than just a laptop with XP on it..

Yea I used my friend as a resource on how he felt about the vista cause he uses it and everyone I seem to ask about Vista has a lot of problems with it. There are some choices for Operating Systems you can have installed on a new computer like with dell selling computers with Ubuntu on it. Which I currently use on my laptop.

I have not actually tried Vista yet but everyone that I know that has it does not like the compatibility problems they are having with their software and hardware when they switched from XP. I am going to wait til the problems have been fixed so I do not go through the same problem. I just switched from a Windows PC to a Apple MacBook and am enjoying this very much. I can have both Windows and Mac on my laptop so I am planning on having both on my computer in the near future.

I haven't buy the Visa yet,but some of my friend did. It really seems to have some problems, anyway not bad as you said. Every new product need the span of fitting the demand of its users. Microsoft is good at creating, i would still expect for it~ Anyway, competition is great, it's good for Micro ~
