The Common Cold

---yes, it is that season again. Sometime on Friday night, I started to realize that I would be coming down with the cold the next day. There was clues such as I was starting to lose my voice, my throat was tender, and my nose was somewhat snuffed. Low and behold, my worst fears came to life when I woke up with a pretty-bad cold. Symptoms? Dizziness Chills Lose of Appetite Stuffy Nose Cough Sore Throat Then there was the fact that I felt like I had gained one-thousand pound each step that I made. Sort of like when you take nighttime cold medicine. The only problem is that I had not taken anything at the point----not that they ever work for me anyway. (I will take bendryl. But only because that helps me sleep at time when I am tossing and turning each minute.) Which leads me into the discussion--- What do you do when you are sick? I go for the home remedies---chicken noodle soup, oatmeal, orange juice, tea, ginger ale, and water. (Of course, I crave this stuff. That's what my mom used to give me when I was younger. Probably why I can only stand to drink ginger ale when I am sick or stressed out. It usually takes my vomit in my opinion.) Oh, and for the super nostalgic factor? Cartoons and talk shows.

I think you are having fever and not cold. chills and diziness are signs of fever. By now you would have recovered, I guess. Try to gargle the throat with warm salt water. Then try inhaling the steam.add some decongestant rub into hot water. Cover yourself up and inhale. That is what I do in case of cold. Try it out next time. Avoid cough syrups like Benadryl, if possible. Read for more tips and home remedies for cold at: http://www.healthmad.com/Health/How-to-Beat-the-Common-Cold.60863

If I had a fever back then, wouldn't the thermometer detect that? Most of the time when I am sick, I remain in the "normal" range.

I hope you feel better soon! I hate being sick, and know exactly what you feel. I usually complain and feel sorry for myself lol, watch lots of tv, drink soups, take aspirin and nyquil and sleep a ton. The good thing is that it will pass soon, so just hang in there!
