How many online friends do you have?

I have only been a member in mylot for a few days and only started to work it yesterday. I already have 17 friends. I have requested most of them as I'm reading peoples discussions. If I like their discussions I go to their profile page and check them out. I check about 2 pages of their discussions and if I see at least 5 discussions I can respond to I request their friendship. Once they accept me I go back into their profile and start responding to as many discussions as I can. I have done this to about 6 of them so far and have a number count of 70 so far.
To make things fair I decided I will now go to each one and only respond to about 5 from each and then go back as time goes on and respond to more.
How do you decide who to request as a friend? Do you go to their profile page after they accept and respond to their discussions?

Hi chris,
im interested in making friends.i always add a person who is active in mylot.most of time i ll in to my friends discussion or todays top and as usual respond to discussions.some of the user whose responded last will i add.for adding them.ill go to their profile and respond to some of their discussions.if they approve it i can see their discussions in very friends discussion.so i can keep my friendship.now i have around 450 friends.always try to respond them,only those who are active only.most of my friends are inactive.
Now i have just added you.please accept my request.

Thank you, I will accept your friendship and hope to hear quite a bit from you. I like to see a lot of different discussions with different topics. That way I have a choice of discussions to respond to. Sometimes I might want to respond to serious discussions and sometimes I may want to only respond to light, humorous discussions. So this way, with a lot of friends, I have those options.

well I have been here about a year now and have hundreds of mylot friends. It used to matter who i had on my list but now i just put anyone on who asks

Wow, this only took 9 minutes and I got two responses already. It amazes me how fast this site works. How do you respond to hundreds of emails you must receive from all your friends? Or do you not have your notify buttons on for all your friends. I want to be notified to my friends discussions so I don't have to search for discussions to respond to. I also hope they respond to my discussions so I can make more money. If this is how it works, I'm not quite sure yet.

I have also been here over a year now and my friends run into the hundreds! But it is impossible to be able to reply to each and every one of their discussions! I do have quite a few close friends who have supported me over troubles I had in the past and I have really appreciated them. Sometimes you can confide more in friends on the net that in person. I find it strange that people add me as a friend without reading or responding to any of my discussions. I also look out for interesting discussions the person has made, if they haven't bothered then I don't have them as friends. It's a great site for making friends, very sociable and a wonderful community, if it wasn't I wouldn't be in my second year of Mylot.

both are from japan
we keep contacting each other, and one is coming to visit me
i just accept all the incoming friend requests
i thought when someone ask for a friend request, they want us to become one of their part ^^
just being positive thinking LOL

i think i have over 30 friends and i have done 2 friends profiles and i will do more but so much to get througth i don't do it straight away but i do do them it takes time with going through
your friends profiles but there are nice people on mylot i like them

I have been also a member in mylot a few days ago, not so luck as you, I have no friend on this mylot. but I would like to say that i have a lot friends in MSN and QQ. but I am in china, my friends don't use the English.

Well now you have a friend. I have sent you a request to be friends. Make sure after you accept to turn your notify button on. That way you will get an email from mylot when I have started a discussion and then you can respond to it. This is one of the reasons to have friends, so you don't have to search for discussions to respond to.

Oh but you're just talking about mylot friends, or in general? I've un hundred friends on mylot, I think, and I always try to answer to their topic...

When I was a new member of myLot I requested some members whom I responded to their discussion to add me in their list... others requested me to add in my list. Although I don't see them responding to my posts, I can't turned them down when they request to be added in my list. Normally I view their profile and see the topics that they posted and try to respond in any of the topics if I see something that interest me.
I am a member of myLot for 9 months already and I have 75 friends here, however some are already not active, others not so active.

Hi,there! I have 36 friends on my mylot list now. Since I'm not here for a long time,I'd like to know more people here and make more mylot friends. I do go to the profile page sometimes when I'm interested to see sth about this person but I don't go there every time.I don't set high limitations to the requests right now.I'd like to contact more people in order to understand different cultures better.But later I may set some conditions to the requests:) Have a nice day and happy posting^_^

I have 7 friends I myself have only been doing this a little while. I am mainly doing it because of the discussions I work Mon.-Fri. and won't have a whole lot of time to spend here so I would rather just make a few good friends that I will have time for. good luck
