Do you think the world is more volient now then the past or is it just that we are now noticing the volience. How and why do you agree or disagree with this?

Modern communication - Modern communication can create an illusion of a world different than what it really is by barraging us with information about violence from all over where in the past we didn't hear about it. That creates the illusion there is more violence now than before.
I don't think the world is more violent, we are just hearing about the violence more with instant communication. We hear about everything all the time. We hear about things that happen across the country as if they happened across the town square, the news delivered with the same sort of gut kick delivery, and we feel we are in a hell of violence. * A child killing is a gut kick, no matter if it happens in your town or across the country. In the past, we didn't hear about the killing across the country. Our perception is different today I think, but I think it can cause a desensitization, something we should guard against.
