LOVE:strong or defenseless

It is the greatest ironies of human existence that the more you love someone, the more you make yourself vulnerable in pain of losing them.
And the more people you love,the more you increase your chances of getting hurt.
Yes, love makes you strong but at the same time it leaves you defenseless.

Yes you are so correct, it does make you vulnerable and makes you drop your guard a little and there can be a lot of pain but what is the alternative,... not to love at all. I met an old friend last week and she was telling me about her daughter who is 35 years old and has never had a boyfriend, I think that is sadder than going through the pains and hurt of love.
