"Citigroup faces $15 bln writeoff."Now there is a headline sure to discourage the potential investor. But, it makes me wonder if the worse is over or will be soon. Personally, I think C has a little more to the downside to go, but it might be a "buy" in the not too distant future. Here's a url to a story concerning this company. http://www.reuters.com/article/marketsNews/idUKN1910073820071119?rpc=44&sp=true The attached chart might be useful. What is your opinion on C, Citigroup?

I think Citigroup still faces some murky waters (well what major bank/financial institution doesn't these days?). I'll have to recheck the watch but I'd still be wary of any financial organization (even Goldman Sachs which is supposedly head above water...still has some suspicions with it in my view). It'd be nice if Citigroup was a buy or a better investment in the future, but for now I'll not be surprised with what happens.

Indeed, there is worse in store for Citicorp and the USA economy and stocks in general. That said, a pause in rising oil prices will give people some false hope and stocks will go higher for a bit in the next few months.

You are right seen that on T.V. yesterday the stocks are pretty high for Citigroup. I just made a discussion about a free online course or seminar, www.nofearinvesting.com maybe you should check it out?

I think Citigroup still has a long way to go. We will see in the coming weeks when the financials report their earnings where we are at. www.technicalstockcharts.blogspot.com
