How long can you hold your breath underwater ?

I remember when i was younger the "big game" to play at the pool was How long could everyone hold their breath for. When i was younger i was able to get a minuite and a half, now however i have no idea how long i could do it. What made me think about this was remembering the magician David Blaine hold his breath under water for over 7 minuites. I was laughing because i used to brag that i could hold it for a minuite and a half when this guy out of no where holds it underwater for 7 min.

haha I know what you mean. I think my son can hold his breath longer than I can nowadays. I don't think I even got to a minute in my early days.

I havent tried in a long time. When I was younger I could hold it for 2 minutes. Now I would probably only last a minute! Im going to have to try next time im in a pool. I really doubt I could hold it for 7 min though! Thats insane. Your brain cant survive to well without oxygen. Areound 3 min you can start to get brain damage.

Yeah i agree 3min. and after that brain damage kicks in. The reason David Blaine could get around 7 min. is because he trained for about a year to do it. haha
