Do people inside mascot costumes smile when taking a picture?

I'm browsing in my 7th birthday album and saw tons of pictures with Jollibee and a thought came to me, "Is the person in that mascot costume really smiling?". Jollibee is the name of the mascot anyways.

Welcome to myLot. That's a really interesting question and I never thought about whether or not a mascot smiles inside the costume when pictures are taken. I'd guess some do just out of habit, even though nobody can see. I probably would...

Thank for the welcome... By the way, I asked some friends, in real life, of mine and luckily one of them have a part-time as a mascot and he said that he normally smiles when taking a picture. Then I told him why smile when the camera won't see your smile anyways. Then we just laughed and laughed not knowing what we are laughing at. lol...

Hi kaban316! That is interesting to really find out. haha.. Never knew if they do but I think they might be smiling because how can they not be affected with all those happy faces around them don't you think so? However, I learned from a friend that wearing those costumes are really a drag because it tends to get really hot inside so probably they are grimacing somehow. Take care and have a nice day.

I'm sure many costumers do smile out of habit, even if it's just a small grin. If the costume's head has a movable jaw, I wonder how many simply open their mouths a bit to make it look like a goofy grin.
