Sick and sad again What is up with me?

I don't really get on here on weekends because I am busy with the children, but I am finally here today. But I am having a hard time. I am sick yet again, but also I am feeling kinda depressed. I don't know really why. I mean there is a lot of pressure right now but that really isn't anything new. It is like I am in a funk I can't shake. What do you do to shake the blues?

I'm so sorry to hear that you are sick and having a hard time. I'm going through a rough time myself right now, so I'm not sure how much I can help. I wanted to let you know I was cheering for you though. :P Personally I tend to let myself wallow in the feelings until I bottom out and then feel better. I don't know if that works for everyone, but it usually works for me. Trying to cheer up usually just makes me feel worse, so I just read and write poetry, listen to sad music, etc... until I reach the bottom and have nowhere to go but up. :P

I know I am trying to be happy and think about all the good that is happening but it just makes me feel almost guilty that I still feel rotten. Thanks

*nods* I feel guilty about that sometimes too, especially when I know it's affecting people around me. I sure hope you feel better soon.

I'm sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. I noticed that this discussion was a few days ago, so I hope things are starting to be better for you. When I'm in a funk I usually let it run it's course by either crying, screaming, or both. :P Or I try to take my mind off of it altogether by keeping busy or thinking of something else. Being in a funk is no fun. I've been there, and I hate it!

I have a real hard time crying. I used to drink and cry like a baby but since I quit I found it hard to cry "on my own". Sometimes I think it would help if I could just get it out and done. But I am doing a bit better today and popped in to say hello. Hope all is well.

hi vicki! ^__^ i think you should have a vacation. maybe the reason why you are feeling low these days is because your mind and body had been dealing with too much pressure that they are demanding a little rest. ^__^ take some rest from the usual pressure. go out of your routine. being in a routine for a long time usually ends up with boredom and depression. go out and have fun. take a refresher. its good to refresh your mind and experience new things once in a while. ^__^ i do hope you snap out of it soon. ^__^

Well there are times that we really feel that we are not in the good mood, or we feel sick. What I could say is take a rest for a while and enjoy your life... Just think of the good things taht you dream and everything that you have that makes you happy... after that you will feel a lot better. Just continue being happy.

The only thing that really ever gets me in good moods is movies. i tell this to people all the time and I don't know if they just think I'm crazy or what, but... you really can learn a lot from movies. compare situations, learn to resolve them. See your life could be worse. Or just laugh. or just cry. just...gives you the chance to learn or do whatever you need.

I agree with you. I was feeling low when I watched The pursuit of happyness but it moved me so much that I didn't feel funky after that. I am doing better today, and popped in to see everyone. Hope all is well.

Hi! earlier i used to booze to get over blues-but it did more harm than good-i endede up feeling more depresed-but now i have joined an organisation giving discourse on spirituality.Try practising Yoga and Pranayama-not only u will b able to get over depression but also u will not fall sick often.

Thanks I quit drinking a couple years ago as I was a boozer and did use it as an escape. I do yoga now too which helps a lot. I usually am a pretty happy person now but this week hit me hard and I didn't have a reason really. But I am a bit better today. Hope all is well with you.

It seems like everyone I know is sick lately. Both of my kids and their s/o's are and my granddaughter just got over a bad cold. It's not hard to be depressed at this time of the year but as you probably know I'm not going to let it happen to me...not this year. Positive thinking!!! I believe that's the only way to shake those blues away!!! Get up and do something you will enjoy....or kick something (that always helps me!) Feel better my friend!

Thanks ctrymuziklvr. I am trying hard to feel positive! I am usually always trying to have a good spirit about things and know that tough times pass and they make me appreciate the good times all the more. What is sucking for me is that when I think of all the good in my life I feel guilty, like I have no right for feeling funky and that makes me feel even worse. BLAH! But I know this will pass soon and I will be back to my usual happier self. :) off to kick a chair before the kids get home...

awwe i am so sorry to hear that you are sick again.its such a horrible feeling when you are sick and down,let alone when you were just sick not that long ago.i know that deal very well,i was sick a few times already plus my kids all at the same time,that was pure h** for me to deal with, so what got me in a better mood was to talk to my friends and sit in the bubble bath and just stay there as long as i could.i hope you feel better soon hon.xoxo pattie
