Scary Job interviews

After loosing my job at the clinic, I, of course, had to get the classifieds out and start searching again. I applied for a job with the city as a Bacterologist in the Environmental lab. Out of 27 applicants, they whittled the list down to 6 and I was one called in to interview. I was taken to a room with 4 people who told me about the job and stuff. Then, they gave me an oral test!! They had a list of questions that were presented to each interviewee and whoever scored the highest would be offered the job! I don't know how many quations they asked, but it was like an oral exam, and they each wrote down my answers to discuss later. WOW, I had never had a job interview with that much pressure!! No warning either!! And no, they weren't ethical questions, they were about water treatment, quality control, bacteria growth and testing, procedual questions, and stuff like that. SCARY!!!! So I think I did pretty good, and got a few "Good answer!" responses from them. But I never heard anything after that, so I guess I was #2 on the list (LOL) What's the scariest or worst interview you have ever had? Got any funny interview stories?

Not really scary or funny! lol. Just weird. I had a phone interview with a cattle property in the Northern Territory here in Australia back when I was 19. They desperately wanted me to work for them and the job sounded great. The only thing that concerned them was that I was single and had no kids! lol. Um, I would have thought that's what they were looking for. Any who, I didn't take the job as they wanted me to start in like a week, and I was practically at the other end of the country. They told me that if I ever changed my mind, to call them. They would pay for me to move there. The thing is, I lost the book that had their contact in it and can't remember the name of the property! lol.

I wonder why they were so concerned about your family situation.

I was a bit nervous, especially since I've been out of school a year, and the questions they were asking I had to pull out of memeory since the job experience I had wasn't a help.
