I was wondering if i am the only one that feels this way.. many people i know drink tea to help them relax, my mother drinks it before bed at night to help her sleep and i often know of people drinking it with honey when they are sick... etc. Does it actually help people relax and sleep better? Im more of a coffee person rather then a tea drinker. of course occasionally ill have some tea, but tea has more caffine in it then coffee does so how is it possible that coffee keeps people awake and tea helps then sleep? I can drink coffee anytime of the day or night and still have no problem falling asleep. I drink tea at night on occasion just when i am chilly or in the mood for it but not to help me sleep. Do yu drink tea to sleep better? Does it actually work for you?

Hello beutfulmama. I think tea helps me relax but not for sleep. I often having it when study, makes my mind relax and think on study better. My mom always said drink milk to make you get a good sleep. I don't think tea for nice sleep and its doesn't work for me as a tea drinker. If you want have good sleep do as what my mom always said to me(16 years old girl)lol!. HAPPY LUCKY. **prettyhanan**

Tea is relaxing and helps me feel better if I've eaten too much. I don't think that teas help people sleep better, though, because it has caffeine. I have Oolong tea at the office and I drink it when I'm really sleepy. I find that Oolong tea is better than coffee to perk you up.

tea is something which is supposed to make you feel fresh and alert. i am more of a coffee person like you, but i get to drink atleast a cup of tea in the day. i think, tea or coffee for that matter makes you more alert than sleepy. infact, in my college days, i used to drink black tea/coffee to keep me awake through the night for studying. so, i guess, i can't really consider a tea before going to bed.

I donno if its only me or not but drinking tea makes me sleepy ....... last night studying for my exam of chemistry, I drank tea at midnight to keep myself stay awake but ended up sleeping in the next 10 minutes and gave a bad examination which will turn out to be a paper with a big red 'F'. i think it depends on our hormones ....... that's why tea gives the opposite effect for me

On the contrary, I will stay up if I drink tea at night. So I don't have a habit to have tea in the evening. I am afraid I will be sleepless.

hi, I know drink tea can makes people relax. When i lived in my grandfather's home, I often heard my grandfather said that I haven't sleep well at last night, because of I drunk tea before bed.So I only heard drink tea before bed is not good to sleep. But your mother drink tea before bed can help her sleep . Drink tea before bed is good or bad to sleep perhaps it is different from person to person.
