I do love the holidays and the music that is played over the radio....in elevators....everywhere. The earliest I heard a Christmas tune was the day after Halloween....they played Jingle Bells. What is the earliest you have heard a Christmas song played on the radio and what is your favorite Christmas tune? Mine is either White Christmas or Silent Night.

Lite FM 102.9 FM here has been playing Christmas music 24 hours a day for over a week now. I love it but the wife hates it. She says it's too early. I say, we've got our lights up may as well have music now too. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

There is a radio station here that started this week. XM Satellite Radio already has their Christmas stations up and going. One of my favorite channels, XM 17 US Country, has been hijacked by country Christmas music.

For a funny song, "Christmas at the Park" by Antsy McClain and the Trailer Park Troubadours and for a serious song, any Christmas song done by the Carpenters. Karen Carpenter had a wonderful voice and it was ashame that she was taken too soon from this world.

I like Oh Come All Ye Faithful and Silent Night. One year I thought I would count how many time I heard Deck The Halls, my least favorite, between Thanksgiving and Christmas. That year Thanksgiving fell on Nov. 24th.So it was a month. I heard Deck The Halls 108 times!

I love Christmas music, but pushing it the day after Halloween just seems a bit much to me. I see it as more of commercializing Christmas instead of it being so special. I like Silent Night very much, and the First Noel is also very pretty. I can't really think of too many Christmas Carols that I don't like. I still like to wait until Thanksgiving is over at least... on that note, I hope you have a nice holiday season.
