Don't sit on me when I'm on the toilet!

I have two cats, twin girls, who always wanna climb on me and sit on my lap when I'm on the pot. I always ask them if they want me to sit on them when they are trying to go, but they don't seem to get it. So the other day, one was in the box doing her business. I went in there and started pestering her. She just sat there with this look on her face like she was trying to hold her consentration while being pestered. All I was doing was rubbing her head and talking to her and scratching her all over, kissing her head and stuff... just trying to be annoying. And I was asking if this was annoying while she was trying to go. She didn't say anything. I wonder if she got the point.

She's a CAT! She won't remember it by the time you go, even IF she got the point! Your only recourse is to shut the door. Mind you, I can't shut mine, the cats are clawing under it if I do!

I don't think she got the point, and if so, she probably liked the attention and so reinforced her desire to give me attention while I go.

LOL I was wondering if I was the only cat owner who had a 'mom's on the toliet so better go fall asleep on her lap' cat. My kitten, Simba, seems to think it's the best time for napping on mommy.

I also have another one who likes to sit on the back of the tank and rub on my head while I'm sitting there. And a kitten who wraps himslf around my feet kneading my ankles, or clawing my leg if I have pants on.

Thats funny. My cats do the same thing. And if I manage to get into the bathroom without them, they are outside scratching the heck out of the door. But I don't think yours understood why you were annoying them.LOL

I don't think so either, cuz they still bother me when I'm on the toilet. I bet they like that I'm stuck there and won't walk away or anything, so they can have full access to me and climb on me as much as they want.

Two kitties getting into mischief - This is a photo of two of our five cats getting into mischief with a bamboo plant. Ellie is the gray female...Tee-Tooh is the smallest of two ginger male cats.
Cats...yes you gotta love them! We have five and they seem to have an innate confidence that even though they want love on their own terms on their own schedule we will cater to it regardless of what we are doing. Ours do the same thing...always wondering into the bathroom looking for love when hubs and I are sitting on the throne of contemplation. I wonder if you cats will get the point...probably not. They have that regal disposition of expecting life on their terms and they usually get it...from our experiences anyway. I've included a picture of ours doing getting into mischief as they tend to do. Comments and ratings on photos are always appreciated. Cute story, fun post! Raia

oh man this made me laugh, cuz when we were younger, we had two to three cats always, one would die, another would come in, haha, well anyway....there's always ONE out of the bunch we called 'bathroom kitty'. the one would HAVE to be in the bathroom with you when you're showering, shaving, pottying WHATEVER, as soon as they seen us go in, if we shut them out, they would cry and scratch at the door........AND WHY, why do they want to sit on our laps when we're doing out thing??? so funny!! and you pestering HER? HAHAHA!!! that's too funny!! but my parents have 2 cats right now, and they're BOTH bathroom kitties, and it drives my dad nuts when he gets up to shower in the morning, cuz they BOTH wanna be in there, and yet they don't really like being around each other, so then they fight, UGH! craziness!! cats are so strange!

My cats don't do that, but I have a 9 month old that thinks she needs to be in the bathroom with me and she tries to climb on my lap. I just started putting her on the potty every time she follows me in there. I am not sure that would work with a cat though.

LOL. yep, we had that problem with our cats too! How did I fix it? By standing up! The poor cat ended up in the toilet and none of them went near it after that. I did give them all a bath though, which made them feel better! lol.
