How do you feel when a My Lot friend sends you a referral link or spam?

Today I was checking into my My Lot private messages and was unpleasantly surprised to find a spam email. I have no idea who it was from, most likely one of my friends on My Lot. I don't know the person, nor have I ever spoken to them on or off My Lot. I guess you can never tell who is going to spam you with affiliate links before you approve them.
Anyway, you might think I'd appreciate the occasional spam affiliate link in my private message box, but for some reason I don't. I love business opportunities and the chance to make money. But, most times, I am more than capable of locating my own.
I have received some wonderful business opportunity leads from one very special friend of mine here on My Lot. But, she was definitely the exception. I gained great benefit from her information. But, she was so polite and asked permission beforehand to send the information to me. She did not blatantly spam my private message box, before finding out whether or not I would be interested. I felt lucky to have such a considerate friend. She was the exception, though!
How do you feel when a My Lot member sends you affiliate links that you have not asked for? Do you ever follow the links and sign up for the offers? Do you take them off as your friend? Or, just ignore them?

I get really angry whenever someone starts spamming me with referral links and asks me to check out something that is most likely a scam. So, I end up deleting the mail that I'm sent and then I remove them as a friend, because obviously the only thing they wanted was to send me spam and I'm not going to tolerate getting spam messages all the time. If they try to add me back, I refuse it.

I haven't had many people do that to me on myLot (although I have on other sites) but the few that have are no longer on my friends list. I can't be bothered with it all. One message like that and they're gone. Oh and by the way, I AM an Internet Marketer, it's just that I recognise there are appropriate times, places and people to do that sort of thing with. MyLot is relaxation for me, I'm not on here to learn about other so-called "opportunities"!

I don't mind if someone sends me email as it may contain some information which i may not be knowing, but if someone sends virus it is real difficult for me to manage.

I am with you on this one. I am more than capable of just deleting the message. It only take a second. But, I will admit it does annoy me a little bit. I have never once seen these people answer any of my discussions, or anyone elses for that matter! I have only gotten a few spam emails thankfully. I have yet to delete anyone but I might if I keep getting them. I have never signed up from a link that came through spam. That is just encouraging them I think.

only friends can send you message or add comments to your profile. so if you see this pm then it should come from one of your friends. I do follow sign ups leads from certain friends, not just everybody.

That hasn't happened to me very often but when it has I've deleted the message and the friend...unless it truly was a friend trying to be helpful but that's an entirely different situation.

I think it is a good idea to ask before you start sending people websites to visit. This could be opinionated of me, but I am sure we all get enough spam and it would make me feel like some one was taking advantage of my accepting them as a friend on myLot.

I wouldn't like being spammed at either. Thank god it never happened to me. All my friends who sent me links by private message did so because I asked for it, or at least because I asked for suggestions or ideas for making money online.
Delete that person from your list of friends, if you feel he/she's not showing you any respect. If it's not that serious a problem, just write back saying you don't want his/her links. I believe they'll undertand.
