Here's a really good husband...a Florida man won millions in the lottery and not only didn't tell his wife, he had the cable and phone services shut off in the home he shared with her and he vanished! She learned of his luck from a piece of mail. Any thoughts on this model husband? I hope he loses every penny of his winnings now! If he wanted out of the marriage he should have said so and split the winnings, it's not like there wasn't enough to go around! Annie

File for divorce and take him to court so she can get half thats the advise I would give. I wonder is Florida a community property state.

I would divorce him too. It would be hard on his wife finding out and even harder finding out that her husband loves money more than he does her.

It might help if you give us the links to all the news you give us. As for the husband, he knowingly cheated his wife, and the winnings belonged to both of them since they were both married at the time. So therefore if there is a divorce, then the winnings are supposed to split right down the middle. And the cable and phone should get restored with him having to pay the connection fee as well as the part of the bill for the time he disconnected it until the divorce is final.

Sorry, if I had a link to give you I would but I heard this story on several TV and radio outlets during the day. I agree that everyting should be split down the middle but the problem is they can't find him. Annie

You know what, it depends on what kind of wife she has been. If she's a worthless wife who never loved me, I would probably do the same thing.

There's still the little matter of the law...lol. I'd feel it would be worth it to give her a share of the money and get her out of my life. There were no indications there was trouble in the marriage before this; I don't know that there wasn't, they just didn't say there were. Annie

This is a clasic example of selfishness and I can never tolerate such a person. I wish his wife would catch him one day and punish him which he deserves most.

What a jackass!! He didnt want to give her anything!! Well what is he going to do? Change his identity? Just be estranged the rest of his life from her? Imagine how she feels? That is just awful. Im with you Annie! I hope that money slips away from him and he has NO CHOICE but to come crawling back to her, then she flees from him! lol Bay Lay Gray xx

I have read a very similar story here in Winnipeg, Canada. The guy did end up having to give his wife half the money. He tried to not claim it until after their divorce went through. He thought if he didn't claim it, by the time he got the money they would be divorced and he wouldn't have to give her any. He was in for a surprise when she found out and hired a lawyer and she received half of it. I think it was around twelve million. I mean, really, how greedy of him. And they had two young kids too. I was so glad she won the case and got her share.

Sometimes people fall into things and forget who was closest to them all the bad times they lived their lives. I agree, he is a man with a stone cold heart who didnt deserve his win-but again that is how luck lands, those who deserve luck never get it, the hudlums are lucky all the time, I wish the money increases rather than deminishes his misery-am sure he wont find peace with the win!

money makes people blind... that's why the Bible says that money is the root of all evils which i think is very true... for money, people will do anything... even resort to bad things to achieve what he/she wants... anyway, i hope this man gets what he deserves for abandoning his wife like that...

We really don't know the entire story behind this so we couldn't judge the husband right away. I just hope that he will realize that what he did was wrong..eventhough let's say that his wife was bad..still he should have done the right thing.

Oh my gosh... what a jerk! If I were here I would go after him for everything I could. I am not sure about FL but TX is a common state where what belongs to you belongs to your husband. She should be entitled to at least 1/2 of everything he owns and proberly alimony as well. That should be quite a bit with him winning the lottery.

What a greedy and selfish husband? If i were her wife i could pray for him to be followed by thieves, they mug him and leave him wounded and without money! That way I could get guts to come home to me to takecare of him, wash him, treat his wounds with antiseptic and feed him. I cannot file for divorce because I would like to see him suffer and regret for the rest of his life. Most men behave like that - they mistreat their wives and after something bad has happened to them, the only place to run to is to his loving wife.........Thanks for sharing this story.

Hell get his. There is no judge in this country that can morally or legally let this guy get off with out giving up at the very least half. I also heard about this situation. For those who are interested, it was on cbs news with Katie Couric last night. The CBS website will have the update. Not only did he take off with the money, but he shut off her utilities. The judge may make him pay off all the bills acquired within the marriage, and technically until they file they are still married. Also she has been an at home wife so no court will leave her to support herself. It goes to show that greed is powerful enough to destroy people. I believe that he was probably doing some extra marital stuff before he won. He probably couldnt afford to leave. When he won he had the finances to do so. For all we know, she could be playing the victim.

What a selfish guy! He should think of her wife too. She was with him the whole time and he'll just leave her like that. Is that money really important to him? I don't care if they have some quarrels in their home but leaving someone is inexcusable. Especially, someone who you dedicate your life to. He sure is making a big mistake. File a formal divorce and share his luck is a better choice indeed. But why did he leave her? They still are married and if something may happen to him, the wife would still inherit the money. What he did is pure stupidity and selfishness. He doesn't deserve that blessing and that marriage.

How mean and shallow. I hope she sues him and walks away with her share. He may have become rich materialistically but he lost his most precious treasure meanwhile-his own self. I pity him.

Greed-runs the world. It was really a naive thing to do, and I have this belief he will be caught. The woman should bank on that and should it happen that he is caught, she should file for a divorce.

Poor husband! Hopefully he would not met an accident from cheating his wife being not fair. He could escape the wrath of his wife but not of God's who sees everything he did. Thanks

Is it really true? How did you know that this man won in the Lottery? Is he your neighbor? Well.. if it is true, I would say that this man has no room in this world and he should be killed! lol... Tell his wife, to assert her rights and file an action before any court in their place. If she is a legal wife, she has the right to claim partial of his winnings. So, go!!!!!!!!!!!
