What's the fastest way to lose weight?

Which diet is more effective and why? 1. Atkin Diet 2. Zone Diet 3. South Beach Diet 4. Others (please provide more information). I posted an article on Helium on this but would like to hear the views of myLot folks. http://www.helium.com/tm/709084/fastest-weight-would-matter

The best diet for me (the most effective) is cutting on salt, sugar and carbohydrates, and drink lots of pineapple juice.

Pineapple juice somehow neutralizes my fat intake, even when I "pig-out," drinking it throughout the day prevents me from adding weight. But I think these stuff depends on someone's metabolism of course.

Sounds good. No fancy name but pure simple, practical approach to losing weight. Pineapple juice? How does that help or is it just a personal preference for the type of fruit juice? Just curious why pineapple juice in particular.

Any diet would work as long as you keep it consistent. Any of these diets with constant exercise will help you lose weight properly. And then, it's the maintaining part that's tough there is a tendency that when you drop to a certain weight, you try and compensate by eating "unhealthy" foods. In short, rewarding yourself too much. I know you'll get the right motivation. Losing weight is tough but always think that there are people cheering for you.

Indeed persistence and consistency is the key to losing weight effective and keeping those extra pounds off. The latter being more challenging. For me the thing that worked is just walking. I started walking on my treadmill and saw immediate result. I brisk walk for 30-45 minutes every day except for weekends. It reduced my inches as well as I am reducing my weight gradually. Also, I have less appetite. Walking also help me firm my tummy and it helped me to reduce the food intake which ultimately reduced the calorie intake. It helped me in many ways. Earlier I could not walk to a nearby store but now I feel good when I walk. It helps my heart too. For me, walking helped me a lot.

Wow! It takes a lot of discipline to do it everyday! But I agree that walking/jogging is great! If anything else, it has less impact to the joints compared with running and helps to keep us healthy.

Hello fineexistence, I do not know about the diets you mentioned. But one thing I can clearly say. There is no diet which can reduce weight in a fastest way. If at all if there is a diet like that, many Governments and Social Organizations would have arranged an awereness programme and many people would have benefited by that. I am sure you are aware that even W.H.O is concerend about the increasing obesity persons through out the world. There is only one way to reduce weight. That is by way of regular exercising and dieting(avoiding certain foods). Even this way also it will take longer time.

That's very true.. I am just curious as there is so much talk about the different types of diets out there. Just wondering which ones is effective for who. Guess different types suit different people.

Hi fineexistence, Welcome to Mylot. I am slightly more than 2 weeks 'old' here in Mylot. Most Diets can help you lose weight fast the problem is not losing the extras but maintaining the right weight after losing it. I hv tried many types of weight lost program n even went to slimming centers to lose weight. I thought if I cld lose the extra kg by taking 'short cut', maybe maintaining it wld ne easy. I was so wrong. Finally, after losing more money than weight, I realise the Best way is eat wisely n EXERCISE! Take more natural Fiber everyday- fruits n lots of vege. Consume at least 3 litres of plain water a day. Woolah....you are healthy n slim the natural way. Good luck!

Actully I dont know about which diet more effective when you have mentioned but I think runing is the most way to lose your weight.
