Working at Christmas

yes, in the military i had to work the holidays and yes sometimes Christmas..but the food in the chow hall was the best and I ate a lot of good food and we would all be thankful we did not have worst duty..like KP..or locked up in the brig...sometimes i felt sorry for the Air Police who had to guard the run ways and it gets very cold in the Upper part of Michigan...also a lot of people worked in the Hospital taking care of the sick and wounded.. we were always ready 24/ 7

Yes, It's always been a battle to keep from working on Christmas Day, I myself worked at a hospital setting, and when the time came to work, I just went ahead and worked, somebody had to! Later after the kids were grown, I would even trade days with other people, who wanted to be with their families,and I didn't mind sacrificing, since I was alone anyway!

Years ago when I was waitressing I had to work a lot of holidays but always made sure I got at least Christmas day off to be with my kids. My daughter is waitressing now and has to work Thanksgiving day but they are giving her Christmas off to be with her family. I always hating working on the more family oriented holidays.

Yes I have worked for Christmas only because my Christmas is on the 6th january. So Why not. I was a disability worker and when you work with people they cant just close it down for the holidays. It was great I got payed 2 and 1/2 times so that was great. I asked what I needed to do and did it and that was it.

I've never had to work Christmas day, and i don't think i ever would. But unfortunately, i will have to work tomorrow though in the early morning. It's alright though, i'll be home by mid afternoon, plenty of time to stuff my face. (and now i have an excuse not to cook for everybody ;) )

yes I have worked a number of Christmas days while I was a nurses aid as I was single and the married staff usually got the cushier days off. I was giving baths, rubbing backs, answering call lights, charting vitals and giving all around patient care. How did I feel, well how would anyone feel when you are working on a Holiday and everyone else is out having fun, and you could have been with your parents, bad of course, how else would One feel?
