If rumours are to be believed Real Madrid board is lining up 30M pounds for the services of Chelsea's Didier Drogba? What do you say about the move?
Cheers!

I'm amazed when i read about the rumours. Real Madrid have enough strikers already in their stable: Ruud van Nilsterooy, Raul, Robinho, Javier Saviola, Gonzalo Higuain, Julio Baptista and Soldado, why do they need to add on more strikers? Coach Bernd Schuster should utilise the players he already have instead of spending more money. The problem is not scoring goals, but overall tactics of the team. As for Didier Drogba, I think he will leave Chelsea at the end of the season, but to Serie A club.

Of the ones that you have mentioned only Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Raul are proven goal scorers. Robinho is becoming more consistent now. But, the likes of Saviola, Julio Baptista and Soldado have not been consistent performers. They are more like backup to the main strikers. Higuain still has to prove at the highest level of the game. So probably this is what is prompting this speculation for Drogba.

well .. if its true than .. real madrid will surely have made a very good investment . drogba is a world class striker n he has proven it in the epl with chelsea. with ruud van nistelroy n raul already in the line up of real madrid with the addition of drogba it sure is goin to be a formidable strike force but then ..
i dont think chelsea would wanna let go of drogba .at this point of time with shevchenko not in form n kalou n pizarro not much of a threat in front of goal . so i think drogba will stay at stamford brdge .. still :)

I think the chemistry of Avram Grant and Didier Drogba is a bit dicey. Though Avram has not said much in press conferences he must be seething inside with some of the comments that Drogba has made in the press!! I think it might not be too long before Drogba heads out!!
Cheers!

Didier Drogba would be a good buy, he is a proven scorer, although he does strike me as being tempermental. He would make a good strike partner for Ruud Van Nistelroy, though I think Ruud plays better with a striker playing off him just as Raul is currently doing

Yes, Ruud likes players like Raul to play off him, but I think the investment in Drogba is to make sure that Real has three world class strikers in its ranks. Drogba brings with him power and determination as well as a bit of clumsy cleverness which sets him apart from the rest of the strikers.
