300 Turkeys and no one can eat them.....

There are 300 or more wild turkeys roaming the streets in Eugene, Oregon, but the homeless nor anyone else can kill them and eat them as long as they are inside the city limits. With the food pantries running out of food I think the city should gather up some of them and give them to the needy. They say these turkeys are destroying peoples yards so why not put them to good use? You can view the video here

That's horrible! I totally support our government but, sometimes I just have to wonder, what were they thinking. We live in a very rural place and everyone in our neighborhood is poor. I really don't think even one turkey would have a chance here. LOL

I didn't watch the video, but that does seem sad that people can't eat them. I guess there are some protections for birds like another poster said, but it just seems that 300 is a pretty high number and a few of them could be used to help feed the homeless. I would think those birds would be causing quite a problem, though. Getting in the way of cars, pooping all over the place, etc.
