I was not sensitive at my height in the previous years because I was contented and because it was God's gift to me. However, when my friends and my younger brothers start teasing me lately because i was the smallest in the group and in our family, my self-esteem decreases a LITTLE. I wouldn't want to get affected by it because I'm not. And because I know the worth of a person is unmeasurable and doesn't depend on their height. There are a lot of persons who are same height as me, that is higher on their position on their job and lot of persons look at them as an aspiration and they are happy of being who they am. hmmmmmmmm...

I feel guilty with your post. We we're just joking around. I won't tease you because of your height again. Well, anyway, I was also little before. Back at high school and in grade school, I was the smallest student in the room. I hated my height before because I was always in front of the line and I will always have to go first. The teasings didn't affect me at all but instead, it somehow helped me build a reputation! The small-but-terrible kind a thing was my title. The students back in school respected me and didn't mind my height because of my brains and my personality. And then, around fourth year high school, an amusing thing happened. I was still the smallest but I got the same height with my close friend and classmate, Conller. At last a companion! hehe anyway, leo218, you should not feel bad because of your height because it is natural. People are more interested in your attitude than your looks. We may see you as a little girl, but the truth is, your taller than anyone else in our hearts! naks! cough! cough!

why would you allow that to lower your self esteem? don't you there a lot of advantages for small people like us? 1) you easily get a seat in jeepneys "on strike" as they say 2) usually you get mistaken to be student still and so charged with student fare :-) 3) small people get hardly noticed in crowds, which explains why i easily get into my class w/out being noticed by my prof that i was late... 4) you get to do more exercise by walking as compared to those giants because of those tiny steps :-) LOL 5) small people are cute.... not so heavy to look at :-) LOL ulit 6) i like those "small but terrible yan" impressions i get.. di naman kasi bagay sa "big but terrible" 7) plus here's a secret, small people tend to have compact brain cells as compared to big ones... sparse daw kasi (i'm not sure if that's scientific) LOL

I love all the advantages you have pointed out. The only problem I have is that because I am short, I often mistaken to be a student, which sucks, because, I have to dress up with effort just to be taken seriously (esp. during meetings... I have to make an impression... LOL).

they say, height matters. maybe true. but not in all aspects in life. i am not a very tall woman. i am just 5 feet and 3 inches tall. but even if not too tall, i had many years in modelling. i wasn't really a star but i had my chances to be on the spotlight. and it felt good. whenever i look back on those days, i smile and say that everything depends on your perseverance and effort. maybe your brother tease you because they just wanna get your attention. just try to play along and not let them notice that you are affected by it. one day, they'll stop teasing you. my brothers are like that, too before. but i just played along and laugh with them whenever they say it to me. and one day, they just stopped. don't let your self esteem lower just becauase other people see something negative in you. show them that even you are not so tall, you are better than them in some ways. anne

well dear i totally agree with you. the kind of work you do and the good person you are does not depend in the how long you are rather it depend how big you think and do things. people who make fun on the physical apperance of somebody they are waste and you should be happy thaat even they make fun of you but still all the time they think of you and you being intelligent dont think wat people say because when elephants walks all small animals kkeps on shouting and nothing happens and elephant is king nothing being affected

Thanks for the support! Yes, people mistakenly judge people on their physical appearance rather than what they do and how they think and do things. I really appreciate your response. Thanks!

We're just the same leo218. When I was in elementary, I used to be the third to the tallest person in the class. But when I reached grade 5, I guess I stop growing. And it is so frustrating because I am small but I am also fat. I wish that at least I reach 5 feet. But its not! ! ! All my cousins and brother are taller. I am the only one who is the smallest among the cousins. On my mother's side, or rather their family- which composed of one elder sister, my mom, and 2 younger brother- they are smaller just like my height. but it is really annoying that even though all of them have children, it seems they are taller. I am the only one left who is smaller. There really comes a time in my high school life that I hate my height. I am the smallest among my classmates and batchmates. I was thinking of buying a growth medicine or pill. But it never comes to buying those growth pill. i guess I just accepted the fact when I started in college, that I am stuck with my height forever. That I will never grow.

Haha! i guess I'm much luckier, my 'barkada' in my high school are the same height as me and it wasn't really an idea or an issue of being small or tall. Sometimes, frustration gets to people. And accepting who we are, are the best thing to do. If we accept ourselves we can do many great things.
