windows media player XP drivers... can i get free download in the net?

my company just issued us laptops and i am a walking technology mishap. LOL. anyway, my problem really is my media player. i use it to listen to music, however, i find that the right speaker is not really working. i asked our technician about it and he said that there is a missing driver when he installed the media player because it is XP. i am only wondering if this is true because if it's not, i want to return it if there is something wrong with the one issued to me. its really not right because the company paid quite a sum to get them and they should be good as gold. don't you think??? be well everyone. my last post for the day.
