I think children should definately not be allowed to use phones, or any electronics during school. They distract from learning, and can create jealousy.

Hello navneetrai. I think it is not a good habit for a student. As I know students are not allowed to bring the cell phone because they were know it can make the student playful in the class with their mobile. For me, it's better if children didn't bring. It may cause bully in the school. HAPPY LUCKY. **prettyhanan**

I dont think it is a good idea for kids to have cell phone in school because all they are going to be doing is texting there friends in the middle of class and not doing there work. They might also have the answers for a test on there cell phones that they could look at.

I think yes! They should be allowed. School shootings, drunk bus drivers teachers engaging in inappropriate activities. What if you have a child hat lives close enough to the school to require walking to and from? Child kidnapping is a fact of life these days. If the issue is bad behavior witth the device while on school grounds buy a Firefly phone(Cingular). It has 3 buttons. One for Mom. one for dad. Or who ever you program into the phone and one for the police. Problem solved.

No because most of the time they don't know how to keep it hidden. They are constantly texting in school and then get it taken away. I don't know about where you are, but when a child gets his or her phone taken away here, the parents have to come down to the school and pay a fine to get it back. If that were my kid, I wouldn't pay that fine. That phone would just stay down there until my kid could pay for it. Then he or she could give me the money and I'd get it out.

i knoe that the public schools do not allow them in there schools but students still sneak them in and in the secondary schools here they bring them to class and they are just not supposed to have them on but in my high school the teachers never did anything about it. i do not feel that it is helping the students having them in class because then they are not paying attention to the stuff they are learning. so in my opinion i do not thing children should be allowed to bring cell phones to school.

i think kids should never be shown mobiles as they than get so involved in this that they feel like owning a mobile and than definately the bad effects of the same are obviously come into picture for them. They feel that mobile is again a toy with which one can play i think theres no use for akid of this mobile and not in the school.

I would say that they should be allowed to take mobile but not for misuse but for emergency purpose. Now if you live in a good locality where crimes are nearly nil then i suggest not to give mobile phones to childrens. This would make them study less and will drag there concentration on the mobile. And who knows it can even attract them to comit some nasty crimes.Girls should have mobiles, atleast they can call parents during emergency.
