World of warcraft has been in stores for now few years. They plan to release some new expansions.... but How will they survive to brand new mmorpg games ? i mean... the developpers wont stop raising their games graphics and soon wow will just be overwhelmed... i dont think wow will survive more than 2 years . Just think of warhammer online.. how many wow players will quit wow for warhammer ? plus this game is coming out soon, has been developped for years and its graphics and gameplay will be better than wows FOR SURE. I want to know what do you guys , wow fans and mmorpgs fans think about all this

Hello, I used to be a big fan of warcraft until the release of the world of warcraft. I think it was a great game as it was meaning a strategy game. I have play all versions with the expansions and i must say warcraft 3 is perfect. Why they decided to expand into another game category is a big question to me. If you have something got you should keep it like this...

Warcraft IV is still in development, and will be a strategy game. Also, they released World of Warcraft because of the money. It currently has about 30 million people, all of them paying US$15/month, which makes US$450million/month and about US$5.4billion/year.

I think World of Warcraft is really banking on its loyal customer base it has built up over the years. In terms of new content, the expansions have been pretty dismal, and it is obvious that Blizzard caters to hardcore WoW gamers, and not the casual gamer. Eventually their customer base will shrink drastically as they lose to more innovative games like Warhammer Online. It is just a slow and steady decline for WoW if you ask me.

WoW will last longer since it is constantly being updated. Also, there are millions and millions of subscribers to pool into its resources and that is one solid base for an mmorpg to operate. It won't just crumble down in an instant because of some egotistical and overrated game in the market.

Many other mmorpgs have come out that were supposed to "kill" wow. None have, warhammer online, age of conan, and anything else that may come out, will NOT kill world of warcraft. All that can and will kill WoW is blizzard.

When the new expansion Cataclysm are released, the whole game will be updated and the same for graphics. WoW will always be the greatest Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game. I purchased Warhammer Online recently, that is surely the best compared to WoW. GW, RoM and Metin is ok too, but will never be as popular as WoW.

I can see World of Warcraft lasting much longer than two years. The rabid fanbase is still strong regardless of other games coming up to challenge. I personally quite WoW for LotRO and didnt look back, but by then i had kind lost interest in it anyway. I must prefer to look forward to Starcraft 2, even if it isn't a MMO.
