I believe there can be absolutely no comparrison between the two. They are very different in both subject and style. Just becaause both have samurais in them doesn't make them compatible enough to be compared. Rurouni Kenshin was made for a different demographic target than Samurai Champloo. That's why there are no gore elements in it and everything is so innocent. Samurai X is a classic anime anyway you look at it. The good guy is perfect (even if he had a tainted past), he always wins and the construction of the story and events are very linear and predictable. Don't get me wrong, I like this anime. exaclt because it is a classic. On the other hand, Samurai Champloo has an atipical storyline, the graphics and the fights have gore elements and the editing is totally different than a classical anime. The way the scenes break, rewind, the flashbacks and its whole construction is very original and non-anime like. But I liked it. It was a very good experiment! Happy myloting and I hope this discussion will get relaunched soon!

Samurai X/RK is a great anime and it has one moral lesson it teaches you: Just Believe and Have hope, and you can overcome your battles. Samurai Champloo takes place during the Edo period(i think), and this is also a great anime where the sole cool factor would be the "Hip-Hop" influence in some of the episodes. I'd say both cannot be compared.

hello Kaban316 OF COURSE !!!!! Rurouni Kenshin ...... i have cousin that recommended me to watch samurak champloo, he said that samurai champloo is better that rurouni kenshin but after i watch that film, i istantly eject the cd from my cd player because its storyline VERY BADDDD and of course the drawing of Character is different from rurouni kenshin ....... rurouni kenshin has more storyline and drawing of each character so in other mean samurai champloo is suck for me .....

Personally, I've got to go with Kenshin. It was the first anime I truly fell in love with. So action packed and yet so touching. It had a wonderful back story as well. Champloo was funny and inventive, but Kenshin I'd watch over and over and over.

I personally think that Rurouni Kenshin is one of the best anime ever! It has a great story, awesome characters and cool moves. It also as a bit or comedy and romance into it. In comparison with other animes, I think none can really outshine this anime. Samurai Champloo? I have not watched this anime yet but I have red it and seen it in the wikipedia encyclopedia. It has some nice drawings and I think a good story but I still think Rurouni Kenshin is the best! This anime is the top one among the samurai genre series. It is just my opinion. ",

I love Kenshin because he's just Kenshin!! I love the back stories. Then again, I've never watched Samurai Champloo, I heard it was good, but I don't know...I just love Kenshin!! I love all the fight scenes, especially the later ones.
