I don't always get to watch the show everyday, but I try and tune in at least 2 or 3 times a week. I'm curious as to what everyone's opinions are on this whole mess involving Todd Manning, Marcie and Tommy?

I think Todd has been a real jerk. I know legally he has a right to Tommy, but he should have been more sensitive to Marcie. She has been raising him for a while now but he treated her like a kidnapper. Todd is a hateful, spiteful person and not a very good role model for his children.

I have actually watched the show well over 20 years so I have seen Todd from the beginning. He's a nut job, who in my opinion, shouldn't be allowed to see any of his children. He is probably one of the most unstable characters on the show. I can see his side, but I think that Marci is a much better role model than Todd. Think of how Marci must feel. She took this child in and has cared for him as her own. Then on top of being told that she has to give Tommy back, she finds out around the same time, that she can never have children of her own. Todd was totally insensitive to Marci and I can see why she did what she did. Todd should appreciate the fact that someone had been taking such good care of his son. But does he? No..the first thing he does is accuse them of kidnapping. Todd sees Tommy as more of a possession than anything and that's why I object to him getting him back.

I can see Marcie's side of it and I understand how Marcie must feel. All I am saying is that I can see Todd's side of it too. And I am also saying that everyone hates Todd because of all the bad things he does and I can understand that, but no one notices the nice things that Todd does every once in a while and no one gives him credit for that. Also, I agree with you that in some ways, Todd sees his children as a possession, BUT, I do not think that is all Todd sees his children as. I believe that Todd does love his children in his own way and in the only way that he knows how. I agree that Todd is in a lot of ways mean spirited and yes, unstable, but I also see the inner struggle that he often goes through and I see this character as some one who is trying to change. I also see that he often fails at this, but at least he is trying and he should be given some credit for that. He accused Micheal and Marcie of kidnapping because he figured out that John knew that Tommy's was his for a while so he automatically assumed that Micheal and Marcie knew all along as well. That was wrong of Todd, I agree. But it was just as wrong for Marcie to take off with Tommy after the court gave Todd custody. Also, everyone says that Marcie is doing what she thinks is best for Tommy, but is she? It was even stated by other characters on the show that if Marcie had know that Tommy belonged to Todd right away, that she would have given him back. Yet Marcie says she don't want to give Tommy back to Todd for many of the same reasons that you state that he shouldn't have him. So if this is the case, why would she have given Tommy back if she had known right away, but not now? If it was really because she didn't think that Todd was good for him, and she wanted to do what was best for Tommy then she wouldn't have given Tommy back even if she had known in the beginning that he was Todd's. The fact that she would have given him back if she had know whose he was in the beginning and before she found out that she couldn't have kids reguardless of who his father was, makes me wonder, is she really keeping Tommy because it is the best thing for Tommy or is she keeping Tommy because it is the best thing for Marcie? And if this is the case, then how is what she doing any better than what Todd is doing?

Todd deserves to have Tommy back. He was as much a victim as Marcie and Michael. He has been looking for him for a long time and a lot of bad things happened to keep him from finding out who had Tommy. I have always liked Todd. He is a good parent. Marcie should not have run. Todd did offer to share custody and Micheal wanted to do that she panicked and ran stupidly. It bugs me that the writers wrote she could not have kids after the Angel child told Al who became Michael he and Marcie needed to get married so she could be born. So what happened to that line? Yes I have watched since the show began some 30 plus years ago. Marcie needs to face the music and come home. They have a new guy now playing Michael not sure for how long.

Thank you for realizing and aknowlendging the fact that Todd did offer to share custody! I pointed that out once too, but it seems that a few other people missed that. I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one who noticed it.
