Vacation - Gillette Castle

Gillette Castle - Gillette Castle State Park - actor who portraited Sherlock Holmes in the late 1800's and early 1900's original home given to the state after his death at the beginning of the century.

I am looking back on some vacation photos. The city trip we took was great. New York City, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Boston and then on the way back to NYC from Boston we stopped about midway at this state park for lunch. It was Gillette Castle in Connecticut. I have been there twice now, and think it is a great place to stop for a tour, which only cost $5.

Sounds like a great trip. It's always fun to look back and photos and bring back the good memories. Manhattan is a great place to visit. The H and M store next to the WTC site is a great place to find bargains. It's larger than the one across from St Patricks Cathedral. There are also so many culteral attractions to see while in Manhattan. Even staying there for a week it's hard to fit everything in.

Yes it was a lot of fun. It sounds like you know the area very well. That may have been the name of the store I was in, but I am not sure. It was only the end of August, but it was my first trip to NYC so there was a lot of new excitement in the air.

I think that it is lovely to look back on old travel photos. I get much pleasure from doing this. It brings back many happy memories. I think you really enjoyed your city trip. Did you do any shopping in fantastic New York? I am sure that Boston was a very picturesque little city. The castle you saw in Connecticut looks like an interesting place to tour and it sounds quite a cheap attraction to visit. I wish you a happy vacation next time you go away somewhere.

I am not much of a shopper but we did happen by several shopping areas in NYC and went in one store right next to the WTC site that had some really good deals for anyone searching for brand name items.
