I have always love Avon products but I have never liked having a representative coming to my house to sell as I always felt obligated to buy, well now people can hoin up and buy on line, I joined up as what is called a social seller which means I can just buy for myself or sell a few things if I want, which I prefer not to but I get all the same things as the normal representatives, the cheaper items, the bargain bin. I got my first order last month and it came with free samples and extra books in case I want to give to friends, and I made $3 profit off myself...hahahahahah hoe cool is that.... :)

Cool!I just ordered a few things from Avon two days ago. I like the convenience of shopping on line. I didn't know that you could be a casual seller though. I tried being a full fledged Avon lady but I'm way to shy to knock on stranger's doors. Plus by shopping on line through upromise I get a certain percentage of my purchase back for college expenses.

You probably are what they call a casual seller because you are still making a profit on what you buy so if you sold to a friend or rally you would get their profit taken off your order so I guess you still are what the rep that signed me up called a casual seller, yeh I couldn't knock on doors either or even ask my friends to buy, I just want to buy for myself and maybe pressies...

I have been selling avon for about 6 months. Actually this weekend I'm doing a craft fair selling avon at a local school. I enjoy selling avon and I make a little bit of extra money. I mostly just sell to family and friends. Congratulations on joining!

I have always loved their Skin So Soft bath oil, when I can't afford to buy my very favourite perfume from The Body Shop I used the Skin So Soft as perfume, I am just trying out a few of the other things now, I have only done one order and just put my second one in yesterday, how exciting receiving the box on the door step....

I really love tranquil moments. I love the mix of lavendar, and its relaxing effect. Whats your favourite product? I love their plumping lipstick

I have always been allergic to Avon's make up. If I put their lipstick on, within a couple minutes, my lips are dried out so you can visually see it. The foundation also dries my face out. I had a friend who sold avon and she did not believe me. I put on the lipstick to show her and she was shocked. She never tried to sell me anything again.

Yes I have heard of someone being allergic to their powder, so it is not everyone...

I love Avon products too, and have bought them for years so last year I joined and became a rep because I thought I might as well get a discount for myself. However, you have to have a minimum order of $70 I think, in order to get the discount; I would never order that much for myself in one order, so being a rep is not practical for me. However, I still buy my products from a lady who comes to my house, and I am happy with that. I'm glad to hear it's working for you, and that you made a profit lilaclady.

I only put in an order for about $40 and I got about $3 profit...maybe things have changed since they have gone on line abbey, and I go into the same area that all the reps go into so maybe..

I know that feeling that if someone is an Avon representative (or Mary Kay) one feels so obligated to buy something, even when you don't really want anything--I wonder though if being able to buy on-line will make representatives a thing of the past. There is an added bonus to both Avon and Mary Kay products. Did you know that they are one of the FEW that don't test on animals? Isn't that great news?

That is excellent! I just might sign up. I've always loved their perfumes and matching talc powders. My mother used to buy them for us when we were kids. When she would change our bed sheets, she would sprinkle our favorite powder on them.Slipping between clean sheets, with the soothing talc scent was such a treat! It was aromatherapy before aromatherapy was popular.

hahaha... cool.... My mother is an Avon rep so I get freebies and discounts of her... I didn't know you could buy directly on-line like that... Sounds good especially for those who hate having them always knocking.... Although my mum just does letter box drops, so they call her if they want something......

I love Avon, but hate having an Avon lady. There is the feeling like you have to buy. Then there is the planning to buy but missed her. Then there is the I am not at home, I will have to hunt my products down from her. Well, I haven't bought Avon in awhile. I certainly didn't know that you could be a casual seller, did it cost money to join that way? Do you have to get others to buy or can it just be you?

No it doesn't cost you anything to join in fact when I signes up, it was a shopping centre promotion I got a goodies bag with some free samples in it for free..and I told them I didn't want to sell and that was when they told me I could join and buy on line just for myself...I get all the discounts just the same as the normal sellers, Iorder my things exactly the same and I make the profit the same from my own buying, but one of the reps from the shopping centre promotion did come to my house to explain how to use their webpage as it is a little complicated but that was cool... it costs $7 delivery no matter how much you order and it is still a case of putting your order in by a certain date and it is delivered to your door on a certain date ... but what you buy you make a bit of a profit so I look at that as money taken off the postage, and you don't pay anything until after you have received your order, I love it...

that's what I did in college, but instead of buying for my self I sold them to other people and made the profit without spending money except for perfume samples, which are very cheap in mini bottles. I didn't earn a lot but not bad.

wow! thats nice for avon to have it already online, didnt know about that. we have dealers here in the P.I., since theres not much filipino who have their own pc and not everyone have credit card, so they all get their avon products from dealers everywhere...

One of my Aunts used to sell Avon and one of my other Aunts used to sell Mary Kay. I really like them both. I find that I mostly order perfumes from there. I remember when Mary Kay (i think) came out with Velocity and I stole all of the free samples so that I could smell like it every day, till it ran out and I eventually had my mom buy the whole gift set. I also really like Surreal from Avon, which reminds me, I should get some more before I run out....
