Will the Writers Strike hit the Soap?

I read where the writers of soap operas were not being effected - at least right now - by the current writers strike. It said that they have original episodes backed up until just afater the first of the year.After that, they can't say. I could care less if the current prime time shows come back - nothing but junk anyway, but I'd hate to see the soaps get stopped. How about you? Can you make it without the soapies? I could, it is just nice to have something new every day and the cliffhangers are so much fun!
