I recently saw a remarkable movie, Darfur Now which shows how six people are affected by the crisis in Darfur.
Actor and activist Don Cheadle is featured as he goes to Darfur and sees first hand what four years of war has done to the region. His celebrity friend George Clooney makes an appearance too.
Adam Sterling is a college student who co-authored the California divestment bill. The movie also features a man who has left the comfort and safety of his home and family and works trying to get food to those in need in Darfur. The film also features two people of Darfur. One is a mother who has lost her family including her infant son who she watched beaten to death. The other is a man who use to be a farmer, but now leads one of the refugee camps.
Finally there is a man who is working to bring those responsible to justice. They have managed to seek the arrest of two men charged with acts against humanity, but to date no one has been brought to justice.
This is a must see film, for anyone who cares about the tragedy in Darfur.
