How do you feel about personalized gifts?

Do you like receiving gifts that are personalized with your name, messages to you or items that have pictures of you and your loved ones on them? Do they have more meaning to you than other gifts with no personalization? I am thinking about getting gifts for my family with family pictures on the gifts. I have already ordered mugs for my parents with pictures of the two of them on the mugs and will be getting more things for them and my other family members.

Simple answer; Nice thought, daft gift 90% of the time. (well over here)
I do think certain ones are a lovely gift(s) and it doesn't really matter what it is because someone as gone to the effort of making it unqiue for myself. So it's overall a nice idea and gift.
Just most are silly things such as "your name" on socks, cups, t-shirts etc

yeah..I think that is so sweet..it will be much better and I will do appreciate that more because i think that that gift has lots of love in it..

Personalized gifts are well, personalized!
I prefer them more than others and they mean more than the usual.
However, I am happy with just the name. I would not want my picture pasted somewhere. :P

isnt that so sweet you see that your face or with a family is embedded to your love ones coffee cup...that is a part of his/her routine.. i thin that is good idea thanks for this discussion.. i think i may have this as a giveaways to my love ones with my face all over the joint and personlaized. LOL!

I think its wonderful. My kids have things like that. I will put them away and give it to them when they get older . I even get things like that . I just love it.

I have never received such a gift. I would love to have my name on some of my clothes. That sounds so cool. I did receive an "I Love You" gift once with my name on it. My husband bought me a new set of scriptures with my name on them in gold. I loved them.

i love personalized gifts. I give them alot. I got my husbands grandmother a paper that had her name and birthdate on it and it listed all the things that happened on her birthday. (november 25th 1901) I am getting my inlaws mugs with pictures of our 3 kids on them this christmas.

I don't know why but I love things with my name on them. I have several keychains, stickers, ect. with my name on them. I don't like my picture on things but my name is fine.

i think personalized gifts are great... i luv gifts but i think personalized gifts are better.
it may not be expensive, but having my name or my face on it - makes it very special - knowing that the person (or persons) took the extra effort to put my name or face on the gift, i guess the 'extra effort' makes a big difference.
i am sure your parents and other family will luv your gifts.

I really love personalized gifts! They require more thought. We get my dad a bunch of personalized stuff from the kids. He always loves them. They are his favorites every year. We have done photo calendars, coffee mugs with names, t-shirts with names and probably some other stuff that I am not thinking of right now.

Yes, I like them most!first, i really think that the gifts personalized with my name have some contacts with me,and second, i appreciate the senders' thought put in the gifts.
i also sent them a lot.

I think gifts that are personalized are more meaningful because someone took time to write you a message. That is something to me.

It depends. I don't really like photos on stuff, that's not my thing. That's more of a thing for kids to give parents or grandparents type gift. I don't really like those sorts of gifts myself. But there are some gifts that i wouldn't really mind personalized. I like gifts that people put thought into though and it really is the thought that counts.

I get my mom alot of personalized gifts I think they are more meaningful I got her a set of precious moments figurines one year were of grandkids and each one had the grandkids names engraved on them.
I have bought my mother in law coffee mugs with the pictures of her grandkids on them. I have also bought sweathshirts with the names of grandkids on them.
I have even had necklaces engraved with my kids picture on them they are really neat.
