Have you cut your husband's hair?

Today my hubby asked me to cut his hair. He normally has short hair and he is balding on top. His hair is so thin when it's short you can see his scalp right through it. But he needed it cut, it looked awful so long. So I took the scissors and cut it. You would think he would be grateful to me for cutting it. But no, later in the day her found a few pieces I missed and complained. I said I'm not a hairdresser, be happy I cut it at all. So I fixed the pieces I missed. I think it looks pretty good. I think I did a good job of it. Do you ever cut your hubby's hair or your kid's hair or your own? Share your story with me.

I normally cut my fiances hair since he likes it short. Its nice that it is short so that if i were to mess up u just go a little shorter and you can never tell that it was a mistake. I even cut my own hair when it gets out of control. It defiantly takes a lot of trust though to let someone else cut your hair.

back then, i cut my youngest brother's hair. the results were not as good as that of a hairdresser's but i say, it was okey. my boyfriend shaves his head. and since he got this electric shaver (or whatever it is called), it is easy for him. but i still help him in shaving his hair. i say, it's kinda fun. at first i got scared knowing that i might hurt him or he might hate the result. good thing, i did not hurt him at all and the results are just fine with my boyfriend. anne

I used to cut my husband and all of my kids' hair. We even bought clippers so I could buzz my husband's hair. Why pay $10 when I can do it at home for free (he just likes it all shaved off really short). I used to do my son the same way, just not as short, but now it is longer. I used to trim the girls' hair, too, but now I just leave it and take them to the salon once a year (when I say salon I mean SuperCuts, lol) We lost our clippers when we moved so I need to get a new set. My son really needs a hair cut and I'm not paying $8 for him to go to the barber. I'm surprised my dad hasn't offered to take him. He is obsessed with my son's hair being too long and took him a few months ago for his last cut (which was way too short in my opinion, even though my dad thought it was still too long).

No, I have never cut his hair. On the contrary, one day I asked him to cut my hair because I was very unsatisfied with the hairdressers. However, my husband really didn't have talent to it, finally I cried to his "masterpiece":) I think I will give him one more chance. At least I can lose temper to him if he doesn't cut my hair well. But I am unable to be angry with the hairdressers. I hope this time he will do it well with my instructions:)

I cut my boys hair one time. My husband liked their cuts so well that he asked me to cut his too. Big mistake! He likes a flat top. Most hairdressers don't even do flat tops. He always has to call ahead to make sure there will be someone there who can do it for him. What made me think I could do it? It turned out horrible. I'll never cut his hair again.

Hello Chrislotz, Yes, I always cut Hubby's hair. He would rather I do it because, as far as he's concerned, I'm the one who needs to like the way it looks. I've been cutting his hair for going on a decade. I used to cut friends' hair when I was in college. Although Hubby is the only one who I would work on these days. No time to do anyone else's. I wouldn't want to have to make a living at it, 'cause it's hard on the body. But, it sure can be fun! Oh, and if Hubby complained that I didn't give him a great haircut, he knows that I'd happily invite him to have it done at a salon. So, he tends to express none other than heartfelt apreciation.

I cut Bruce's hair all of the time. He is bald on top, so it is easy with the electric clippers. I clip it shorter in the summertime. I am always missing hairs and having to catch them with the scissors. I cannot believe he lets me that close to his head with a sharp object. LOL

When my hubby and I were first married money was tight. He got transferd for his job so we move for a year and I stayed home and didnt bring in any money. We made do with what we had but there were things that needed to be taken care of. I went to a local store and bought a hair cutting kit. It came with a movie that tells you kind of how to do it. A lot of it was trial and error. I think his first hair cut took 1 1/2 hours. That was almost 9 years ago and now we can afford a hair cut but I still do it. It has become so easy. I cut my kids hair too and now I cut my moms as well. If you are thinking of doing it again, look it up online and get tips. A few trick I learned made it so much easier.

I've cut my husbands hair quite a few times. He keeps it cut short, around 1/4 inch. So a few times a year i buzz it for him with the hair clippers. I've cut my girls hair also. I trim their bangs and i trim straight across the back. Once the girls get a little older though I won't do that anymore, i'll let a professional do it.

it's funny, i cut the hair for my sister, and the neighborhood said i did a good job for her, not so much expert as the haridresser, however it's well done i think. and that's a what my mum always do for my dad, my mum always cut hair for my dad, and i always cut for my mum,my mum told me that if i was a professional hairdresser, i will be a successful one.haha, actually that's one of the filial thing i can do with my kindness to my getting old mum. miss them.....

most of the time i used to cut my hair myself when i was in school as i did not always have the time to go to the parlour & i hated long hair. so what i used to do is stand in front of the mirror, middle parting of my hair & then take the scissor & cut hairs from both sides. it used to be a very raw cut without maintaining any particular design... hey thanks for starting this topic, i am back to my school days & going to experiment on my hair again today with the same zeal

Um...yes, I have cut my husbands hair, and that's why he goes and gets it done elsewhere now! Well it wasn't that bad, but it certainly wasn't good either. I have also cut my mom's hair, and our 16 months (though his was more like a grab and run, to get it out of his eyes!). I am not very good, but if it has to be done...I can usually manage. The fact that you did a good job the first time...that's fantastic!
