Do you make others wait for you? I mean, for an appointment, do you go on time, go early or go late. If you go early, how many minutes early and why. If you delay, what are the reasons. I am always early for appointments or any thing. I personally hate when people get late for discussions or meetings cos its unfair for the people who come eary and have to wait without starting. This happens mostly during school meetings cos some parents are eternally late and we have to wait for them to start. We go their having our time fixed and thinking that we can go to work at least half day. But..... How about you and what do you think?

I am always early as well, when I make an appointment to pick someone up they all know it in their best interest to be ready half an hour earlier, I always allow for thing to go wrong, in fact when I was working I used to get physically sick if I thought i was going to be late...

Hi Sherinek, Im always early, I cant stand to be late, I think its embarassing. If for some reason I am late, its beyond my control, flat tire, accident, that kind of thing. Its never because I just dont pay attention to the time or I dont space things to where I would have enough time to get somewhere else. Im pretty particular about being ontime. If I cant be ontime, I WILL call and let someone know my where abouts and when I will be there. I really dont like when people just show up late with no concern for others either. Theres ways around things like that. Bay Lay Gray xx

I replied to this discussion because I saw you had, I'm such a stalker chick. :P I agree with the calling thing. I can't stand it when people are late and don't even call to let you know. I have certain people in my life that I always know will be a few minutes late, and I've learned to plan not to even be ready until after they've said they will already be there. Still, it annoys me.

i prefer to be early. its better to be the one waiting than to be the one being waited for. i have always been early for appointments because i always worry of being late and i don't like the thought of people talking about me being late while they are waiting for me. ^__^;; people who are waiting tend to say something bad about the person they are waiting for. i know that because sometimes i'm like that. LOL and usually, those people who always wait would learn their lesson after 2 meetings or so and wouldn't wait anymore for the late-comer and wouldn't take that person along. i don't wanna be left out so i go early always. usually 15 minutes early. ^__^

True. Some people actually curse the person who's getting late. In a way, what a waste of time? But there are a lot of habitual late comers, who do not learn any lesson.

I'm always 5 to 10 minutes early, and it really irritates me when people are late. Even if it's professional people like doctors, why take on a certain amount of patients if you can't keep up!! No, I feel that late people have no respect for others time.

I hate waiting for someone. I think it is very rude and inconsiderate to be late. I have a sister that is always late, no matter what. It's like she just can't be on time. I think this is very inconsiderate of her. She should make the effort to be on time. She makes me and all others feel like we aren't important enough for her to make that effort. We have talked to her, my family, about it and she just says too bad. She will get there when she can. So we always wait for her before we have dinner, or before we start playing cards, or whatever. I always make sure I'm on time or even early. When I have a doctor appointment I am always 15 minutes early. Sometimes it pays off and I get in sooner to see her.

Yes there are people who has the habit of being eternally late lol. Its a delicate thing to tell them to their face, cos, always they will come out with a reasonable enough excuse, so you just have to give in!

For my opinion, i also personlly agree with who hate somebody late when promise in time. In the university, i have many friends. Once my friends make open house, all with gather in one place before go to my friends home. I as a leader tell all my friends to gather at 10am, but so upset when many my friends come at 11am...1 hour i and several friends wait. It no fair to me and my friends who came early. I think, the best way to solve this problem is tell my frinds to come at 8am...it is can solve this problem?

Do you know the first act of honesty is keeping up the time? I love to keep up the timings and sometimes it costs me to maintain the schedules, like if I am held up due to traffic, I had to take a city taxi to reach the destination. If I am not able to make it on time, I give a call or send a messenger about the delay I really hate people who are late comers

Its still worth even though you have to spend a little, to keep up to time. Cos, that way, you maintain a reputation among others, "this person never gets late or he is always on time, we can trust him to come on time etc"

i m kind of early type person. if there is any appointment, i tend to come on the earlier time or on time. i just hate to be late thats why i also dislike people who cant come on time when they make apointment. for some reason, i might be okay but if its happened for several times, then definetely not okay for me.

I'm usually early by five minutes but given the traffic here in Manila that five minutes soon turn to 20 minutes being late. I've already corrected that by driving as fast as hell and hoping I don't hit any pedestrians crossing the street..kidding.. haha!

Hello, Sherinek! late? wait? it is nonsense, irritating.when you have an appointment, you are supposed to be there before time, not the right time, late arrival would irritate the person or people with whom you have fixed appointment and they might leave the place as they might have other works to attend.you are, suppose, going to catch the train,if you will be late even by one minute, the train wold leave the station.can the train wait for you?no.suppose you are going to address a meeting and you are there at right time and you found the auditorium is empty or half packed, can you wait till it is packed.either you will prefer to complete your job or quit.in either case you are in an ambarassing situation.so all should be aware of the value of time as time and tide wait for none.thanks for the discussions.have a good day.

In the past, I used to make others wait for me. But, when I go to appointment, I am always early. Of course, its bad to keep other people waiting. But with friends and classmates, I used them to wait for me. I just hate to wait for them and I do not have anything to do. I do not want to waste my time. The sayings "Time is gold" is important for me. Instead of waiting, who knows I may be able to finish the book that I was reading. But when I join an organization in my college life, I just realized the importance of being early-whether it is for appointment, friends, classmates, or groupmates. I think it is better early than to be late when you have an appointment with important person, or friends, or with a group.

One of my biggest pet peeves is waiting on someone who is late! I find that very rude and inconsiderate to keep someone waiting. I try to be at least 5 minutes early to any appointment. I would rather be early and have to wait for a moment or two than to be late and keep others waiting!

I'm normally always early. I will admitt that when I first brought my baby home (she's eleven months now) sometimes I would run a little late or right on time. Now I'm starting to get used to it so I've gone back to being at least 15 minutes early. I can not stand waiting on someone so that's why I always try to be early. I think it's bad when people show up late for interviews...it doesn't give a good first impression. Also I can't stand it when people are late for Birthday Parties or any kind of party for that matter. They should think about other people and not just themselves. It's not that hard to start getting ready in an advance if you know that you are supposed to be somewhere at a certain time. We have a few people in my family that we are always waiting on. My daughters first birthday party is this coming weekend and I'm not going to wait for people. If they can't be there on time then they will just have to miss out. LOL. Have a great day.
