with the seemingly inexhaustable suply of McDonald's outlets throughout the world and the realisation the the product is not the best, ive been thinking. What better way of controling the social structure of a country than by ensuring a good proportion of its population are working for the Yankee Dollar? Economic Imperialism is just as socialy distructive as formal military occupation but leaves the means of commerce intact, thereby allowing continued control. After a recent trip to Luxor (the one in Egypt, incase i confuse Americans) I was shocked to find a McDonalds in the gate way to Luxor temple. I have also heard of them in India and even Moscow, surely this is one big mac too far?

I can't say that the food of McDonalds is bad. The taste deffers person to person and obiously mixing of personality. As me concern, wherever I found the taste of foods is good with a charming environment, I generally used to start take food from there.

Interesting viewpoint! I have never been to a different country so I have no idea what McDonald's are like elsewhere. I'm assuming they are basically the same as here in the US but do they serve any "local" food at all? Anyway...What if a Chinese or Indian food chain started popping up worldwide? Wouldn't that be viewed as exposing the world to other cultures regardless of the quality? I admit that unhealthy fast food isn't exactly the greatest legacy a country could have but let's face it...it's about the best thing we have going for us at the moment LOL! It is part of our culture and we have a huige ego and want to share it with the world. I'd love it if other countries would join in on the fun...and no I don't quite count Taco Bell as international cuisine.
