God is an idiot.

Why would Go want us to worship him through superstition alone when the universe is clearly built on evidence and science? It makes no sense!

You say God is an idiot so you must beleive in him. If you dont then he can not be an idiot can he? The universe may very well have been created by the big bang but what made the bang? There had to be something there in the first place to bang. The bible is not meant to be taken literally word for word. It is truth but not fact.

"You say God is an idiot so you must believe in him" Mmm not really. I could equally say Santa Claus is an idiot for not charging all the kids for the presents he gives out! You seem convinced of Gods existance by causality, but that only raises the question of what created God. Saying he was always there doesn't answer anything, it just moves the mystery of where the universe came from one step further back.

I agree with what the guy said above. God is not a counter measurement to the big bang instead it only creates more questions instead of answers.

I dont mean to sound ignorant but if you live our life wondering how you got hear then you are wasting your time. I think that there is a scientific reason for everything but, when it all comes down to it basically all comes down to is chance. I agree that the bible should not be taken literal for everthing but you need to understand that life is about living in the moment not waiting for the moment to live.

I don't think I quite understand your question, but I will agree that all the "God" stuff usually strikes me as silly. I don't really believe, and I do consider myself to agree more with science and Darwin, and other theories like that...I don't really believe in all the Catholic or Christian beliefs, rituals, and morals, but I guess I wouldn't chastise someone who did.

Edigital: I find it hard to believe hundreds of years of Scientific research and theories is "idiotic" compared to some historical dogma. Or anyone housing the opinion that Science can have an universal answer instead of old documents revised and translated from generation to generation.

I personally can't believe ins omething i have no proof of or can't see for myself. However, i'm also not one to judge. If religious people need to belief in a higher power, to make them feel better about themselves, then who's it going to hurt ? As long as they are not trying to cram it down my throat, i dont mind what they believe in :) However if they stopped asking god for miracles, and started coming up with their own solution instead of waiting for "god" to fix things for them, our world might be in a better state. JUST my opinion though.

Of course He is an idiot He created you and me! LOL.........the "God" as an angry old man with flowing robes sitting on a throne keeping record of who is going to hell and who is going to heaven is just a figment of our imagination. That said then we will go to Big Bang theory which again is not proven........so i guess we just got to keep a open mind till we meet 'God' or have concrete proof of the big bang theory. Both can be true or both can be false or one can be true. The possibility is equally proportionate to the probability. But whatever bought us here i am happy we are here. In this age of science and technology where i can put across my thoughts to you without even meeting you! So lets all be happy spread lots of love, have fun and make the world a better place so when we are here anymore our kids don't sit and laugh at our stupidity. Welcome to mylot and happy mylotting

Hi cochiece. "It makes no sense" - your words for this one that make your statement right. Because believe in God is called "BELIEF". Once 'belief' mean human will not use their senses. Mind is not human sense, mind is and abstraction of deception or acceptance. And mind is not the brain. OK come back to your point about the universe's 'evidence and science', it categorized under DISCOVERY. Discovery is an adjective under 'possessive adjective' for DISCOVER. Discover mean find unexpectedly or in the course of a search. Science find it and not create it. That is the amazing part on God, it truly depend on you. If you said that God is an idiot, mean that your God is an idiot. So don't look for an idiot God. Look for smart God to be your God and then you will be smart as your smart God. Actually you have chosen the wrong God, cochiece. Happy Postings and Earnings, cochiece. HAPPY DAPPY.

I agree with you 100%. i dont really believe in religion but I do beilve in god. I know from life experiences that he exsists. I dont have to go out into the world and tell a million people why and to agree with mebut everysingle peroson has thier way of understanding things. God is great, he loves us, and he wants the best for us. Life is so short and so beautiful. Everyone should be good to eachother and help eachother because all we got is eachother. LOVE!

Maybe God put us here and gave us inteligent brains, phsyics, chemistry, engineering and other sciences so we can figure things out for ourselves, instead of sit around waiting for it to all be given to us on a silver platter? Sure, modern science can tell me how a tree grows, but it can't tell me why a tree exists. On the same token, science can teach me amazing things about my body, but it can't teach me anything about why I have one. Knowing we exist is awesome. Knowing how the universe works is amazing. However, if knowing that we exist and how things work all there is to life? I expect science to teach me about the physical universe, and spirituality to teach me about the spiritual universe... but since neither have enough information to come to a logical conclusion about the other... why would I expect one?

You mixed both together... If you believe universe is built only on scientific evidence and theories, you don't have to mind God's directions to worship. God created us and gave provisions to us to live in earth, and God has an intention in creating man, and god taught man how to live in earth and what we will achieve if we accept god's directions, that is why I worship. If you believe Universe is built by God, you can chose either worship or not to worship. So the logic you specified doesn't work.

Hi and welcome to Mylot... You have certainly started out your presence here by posing an interesting question and have had some equally interesting responses. To me the dogma and seemingly irrational ideas behind many extremist religions come more from man-made ideas that are geared towards mind control than what I believe are larger spiritual principles. If a God truly wanted absolute worship and then condemned those to hell who did not do it why would He/She have given us free will in the first place? To me we are spiritual/energetic beings going through human experiences to grow our souls and become more enlightened. Whether we do that through a belief in science...or God...we have been given the right to choose. To me that shows that the Source of all things is so loving that it doesn't need to be worshiped or we'd never have been given the right to make mistakes, to learn, grow and do course corrections. Whether we are antagonistic, atheists or believers...we all come around to facing ourselves and understanding that there are consequences to all we think and do...to me that is the amazing part of life regardless of what anyone believes because there is a universality here that is undeniable and within that the One Song of our humanity is revealed. Science has been debunked and proven true so many times that what we believe today may be debunked tomorrow. I personally do not believe in evolution. The Bible clearly states God made man and woman. It does not state that God made a puddle of mud and organisms emerged from it and eventually they evolved into human beings. That's just insane.

How can you say that "the universe is clearly built on evidence and science" when science has never proven when the universe began or how? Nobody really knows "how" God created the universe because there were no humans around at the time - all we have is the Bible's description of His creation. And, it makes a whole lot more sense than a bunch of scientists saying that "the universe just started somehow"! What I'm trying to say to you is: if scientists say the world started from a "cosmic blast" or whatever it is they say, who created the cosmic blast? There had to be a beginning somewhere! And, in my opinion, God is the answer. I will be praying for you that you find that answer for yourself some day. God bless you!

this is an odd ? and I think god wants us to love him by loving others that is our worship . not because he made the world , but because he loves us. just like we love our children. god is spirit, god wants our spirit to be aligned with his spirit and the will of him, which is to be all knowing ,all powerful, all loving. in fact it sounds crazy to think a god would want u to be all powerful like him, doesnt it, but isnt that what the bible says?

Just how much do YOU know about the Universe and Science? How many years did it take to prove that the world was not flat? What about black holes? They used to say that at some point the Universe would stop expanding and suddenly it would implode-bye bye earth. Now they know that that is wrong. So G'd is an idiot? How can you put a human attribute on something that is not human? G'd is not human. G'd is not a man or a woman or a spirit or anything that is tangible. For too long preachers and ministers and priests have brainwashed people with their own small minds and beliefs. They cannot grasp the concept so they have to make it understandable to themselves and then they foist their idea off on everyone else. It was not a thing or a being or a spirit that started the Universe. It was knowledge. Pure clean unending knowledge. That is probably the only part of the story of Adam and Eve that is completely true. The various references to Knowledge. The tree of knowledge. The one thing that sets man apart from G'd is G'd's expanse of knowledge, etc.

Then you know that the bible is has been proven to have taken place by archaelogists and historians, so why say something that clearly you cannot back up with facts, I have noticed that some people say things but at least they have a common sense approach to what they say. They dont just go. Oh the world is flat and because the queen says its so it makes no sense. So research it before saying it.

I don't agree with that, because there are so many facts which can't be explained by science.... For example-The source of energy for the first heartbeat of a child in mother's womb is not yet explained by the science.... -The uniqueness of finger print etc.. There must be some divine power behind this....

I find it bizarre that such a suggestion is even here. One note that interests me is that God is supposed to be watching us, checking to see what we will do given a set of parameters. So why does God and science have to be mutually exclusive, when it would appear that God is a scientist! Now before you get all wound up and suggest that I should be burned at the stake, or flayed alive, think about it. He already knows what will happen, but still lets us do what we are going to do. Science teacher? Maybe. And forgetting about which came first, God or the Big Bang, if you look at the order of the Big Bang, and then read Genesis' story of creation, they actually mest together quite well.
