Hi i signed over week ago, my second day i made 22 cents wich i thought was very good. Then i never did so much anymore but i kept writing as much or even more than that. Last time for example i wrote at least like that 22 cents day but got only 4 cents.. May it be because i falled into a discussion with other users?

I don't really know how they calculate the earnings here. But what I notice for me is that when I respond to discussions with well though out responses and post discussions with more detail and be more descriptive they tend to give me a few pennies more. I don't start a lot of discussion but when I do most of the time it's about things I am passionate in or really want an answer for. Hope that helps. Take care and good luck.

do you know if + and - increase and decrese the earning? and also what are those stars above some people's name?

What I mean is that they pay you by the quality of your work not quantity, that is my opinion only though. As for the star, you get a star for writing at least 100 post and the higher the number in the star the better quality of work you have written. That is in my understanding of it. Hope that helps.

Thanks you for your help mate. But what determines the "quality"? Is it the voting system? I guess so..

It really depends on a few things. Firstly, your earnings depend on how long is your responses to others' discussions, as well as how long are the discussions you start. Basically, posts with 4 lines or more will earn more than posts that are just one or two sentences long. Secondly, there is a probability that discussions you reply to are deleted because the member who started the discussion somehow repeated the same question asked by another member. So his or her discussion is deleted, and consequently the post those who reply are also deleted and earnings "withdrawn". Thirdly, the star with the number next to your username also plays an important role on how much you're paid. The closer the number is to 10, the higher you are paid. The number indicates the quality of the posts you actually do, and is determined by how other members rate your discussions and posts.

If people are voting you badly because of what you posted, I think that's a sad case. Mylot is supposed to be a community when members discuss constructively and learn from each other, and not to condemn others for their opinions. I just gave you a "+" for this discussion to help increase your ratings a bit. Glad that my well-worded response was easy to understand.... =)

My responses are usually quite wordy, dont take those as an example as i am here writing in my own opened thread. I guess it must have been because i had a discussion with a few people who were speaking some nonsense, they probably voted me badly. The day before i had that discussion i was typing just the same quantity of text i did that day but i got 5 times as much in the earnings. Thanks for your well stated answer.

I notice that some of your responses are hard to read. Readability is also a big factor. It doesn't matter whether the posts are long or well thought out to you. I am assuming that English is not your first language. Just keep on working on it. Don't get angry and try not to make enemies. Its better to have more friends and people you get a long with. My current goal in myLot is to have more friends. Not just people on my friends list, but people I can talk to more often.

Yes, you were right, english isnt my first language. I'd also love to find interesting people here and i have found some.. ..but when someone opens a thread implying that low scare tactics are the way to educate your kids (and that those doing otherwise are ruining society).. ..or one woman who pretends to say she has opened to other cultures because she has cable TV.. my blood starts to boil :) i guess i'll just have to accept the low earning.. thanks for your answer! + given.

All I know is depends on the quality of your post not in how many post you write. I ask that also and the answer I got is write a quality post.

I really don't know if this is worth it because I have been typing for awhile and my earinings are like a penny only a day for some reason.

I read about the guidance which mentioned this problem. But I can't find what I saw.. It said that the earnings you make is not fixed. Sometimes when you responded to an inappropriate discussion which later got deleted, your earnings would decrease. And at the same time, since the whole amount of money is set, others got extra earnings from the money you lose. The number inside your star reflects the quality of your responses. And since your number is 3, it indicates that you're not posting quality responses. That might be the reason why your earnings don't increase much.

Actually i am always posting well thought answers, quality is determined by the votings probably and since i challenged some people who were displaying some stupid cliches as their point of view they surely voted me badly.
