Where do you do your Christmas shopping at? Not just presents but decorations, cards, whatever else you buy for the holiday. Do you prefer one store over another? In the town we live in, I get to choose from 2 stores Walmart or Dollar General. I usually get cards and basic gifts at Dollar General and the more special type gifts at Walmarts though in all honesty I have come to really dislike Christmas shopping altogether. Thankfully I only have a handful ppl I buy for so it's not like some families where there are dozens to buy for. I put it off as long as possible and then try to hurry through it. What about you? Do you spend hours or days trying to pick the perfect gift or do you just grab any old thing and hope they like it? MERRY CHRISTMAS!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Mom and I started a tradition for our family...a cookie and cake box for everybody. I'd rather work in the kitchen than fight the crowds and hunt through picked over items for gifts...We only do that for the little ones in the family. The first year we did the treat boxes, everyone sampled theirs and let us know which were their favorites. So we noted that and we give them extras of what they really like. Cards are usually Hallmark but we always go at the end of the season when all is on sale and get wrapping paper and cards. Ornaments, same deal, we go to sales and love going to suburban "downtown" stores to check out all the old fashioned decorations and decorated trees. You can get a lot of ideas from their displays.

I don't really have a preference, its more a matter of gas and money which determines where I go. Usually the entire family will head down to Big Lots after hitting the dollar stores. But if we have decent bucks, and aren't worried about how we spend it, and I admit that's rare... we'll head to the Mall. The Mall is AWESOME on christmas. I really miss going to malls..it's been quite a bit. Frankly, the way this year's going. We'll be lucky to do our usual thing, so I won't dare hope for more than that. We try not to out it off at the last minute though, we'll stretch it out over December, if not earlier..doing the last of it in Dec. We try to do our shopping together, but sometimes we get the opportunity to do it each by our onesies..which again is rare and usually goes with the part where we're lucky and have a bit more money than we usually do lol. Anyway, we know eachother well enough we can more or less tell if we'll like eachother's presents..so that part's not generally a big deal.

There is a Super Walmart in my town I do a lot of shopping there. Unless it is really busy then I will go to Dollar Stores myself. I also go to Dollar tree. I mean to get a few stocking stuffers and they do sell Christmas cards and bags for Christmas. I also do some of my shopping online . Like from Amazon and Walmart online.

I try to be socially responsible, buy locally and handmade from artists directly as often as possible, while still buying gifts the person I'm purchasing for will still like. For sports and that kind of thing, I shop at charity sites like igive.com or goodsearch.com, so that I'm helping folks out even when dealing with less responsible companies.

yea, these days, being low on money, I've limited my Christmas shopping to only those two stores, for convenience, and for the money! The only ones I worry about any more are just the grandkids! I'm starting to like the computer though! I can see that in the future, I'm gonna be doing a lot of shopping on the computer! I've already done some, and it seems that there are a lot of good buys when you do it on the computer! Not to mention the convenience!

I don't buy my presents or decorations at any particular place. I guess Target and Walmart would be the majority because they are close. I also shop online, at the mall, video game stores, dollar stores and many more places. I try to save up all the gift cards that I get throughout the year from my online endeavors and use them for Christmas shopping. A couple of examples would be: Through mycokerewards I got gift cards to Sonystyle. I ordered 2 PSP games, a cd and 2 dvds all for free. I also ordered a dvd straight from the mycokerewards site using my points. From mypoints, I got a $5 Barnes and Noble gift card, $10 Walmart giftcard and a $25 giftcard. I am getting ready to cash out another giftcard from here as well as soon as I decide what store card I want. Between my husband and I, we have 7 of our own children to buy for (not including all the other family members!)so this really cuts down on expenses. I spend quite a bit of time choosing gifts, I don't grab the first thing I see and hope for the best. I am a list maker, so I have lists of stuff that I want to buy and lists of stuff I have bought. My husband thinks I am crazy!

Most years I try to hand make the majority of my presents and such. When I do purchase mostly Walmart and Dollar General (both have great prices and selection - and I have others to choose from but shop there).

I prefer to make things for people. I have made bracelets for my roomie & my sister, a necklace for my neice & I'm going to pick out something or make one for my brother's girlfriend. Mom doesn't need "things" so I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do for her - maybe some kind of food treat. I'm going to wait till xmas so my sis & I can go in on a gift for my bro & she's going to help me pick out what to give our uncle as well since she knows his size/wants/tastes better than I do. I've also been making somethings for the roomie to give as gifts (yes, she'll pay me a bit.) But I'd probably have made them anyway for something to do.

I actually gave up on fighting the crowds years ago, twoey. I do most of my Christmas shopping either from mail-order catalogs or via the internet. It's much easier and I don't have to get out in the crowds. I will do some shopping at the Family Dollar store locally since I go there to buy all of my household items, etc.

I shop at all kinds of different stores. I try to pick something that fits their personality for a token gift. I buy gift cards as their main gift. I don't have alot to buy for either...but I do enjoy picking out what I want to give them. Many times I add a simple homemade gift.

There isn't one place that I do stuff. This year so far I did my shopping on Amazon.com. But typically I go to places like Target and/or walmart for pretty much everything. I always forget about dollar stores. Personally I wouldn't get christmas gifts for people there because they don't have much that my family would want. but I do actually plan on going to the dollar store today to look for decorations.

The deco's i tend to make impulsive bying in whatever store I happen to find anything I fancy, i.e supermarked, hardware etc. For the gifts i will get most of it online as it is possible to save between 30-50 % on your shopping. Furthermore it is open when it suits you, you have the best selection you can ask for and finally there is no que.

I have a tendancy to spend far too long thinking up the perfect gift for people, thankfully I only have a handful of people to buy for or else I doubt i'd get all my shopping done before christmas! In past years I've gone into the town centre and seen what I can get from the shopping centre but this year I've been relying much more on the internet for my christmas gift needs.

play.com all the way. And a healthy dose of Radioshack and Maplin for everything else. :)

I went shopping at Walmarts on Friday and got it all almost done. I also went to Big Lots and got a few things too. I love the Dollar General, we have one of those stores too. Now I only have to get 1 more thing and I am done. I put off the wrapping of the presents till the last minute. I do try to find gifts that suit the person, I put alot of thought into each gift. I love to find stuff that is perfect for each person. Good luck shopping.

I do a lot of shopping online, but this year, I must admit. I bought 7 gifts at an Ace Hardware store. It was on way to work on Black Friday and I was in and out in about 5 minutes. I think it was one of my most efficient shopping trips ever. I do a lot at WalMart as well. If you have a Kirkland's near by..they have nice stuff at a very reasonable price. And if you buy clothing for kids..check out a Steve and Barry's - You can get down jackets for $15 and under over there and if the kids lose or destroy them - no big deal. It is nice quality stuff too. Hoodies that can't be beat for the price - also under 15, as are their jeans. In some way's they make WalMart look expensive.

I don't buy many actual gifts anymore, I buy gift cards and give instant lottery tickets for the adults on my list but I shop online for most of the gifts I do buy. It's so much easier and doesn't cost me a penny for gas! As for decorations, I haven't done much decorating since my daughter was a child but when I do need a little something I usually get it at the dollar store or sometimes I get things after Christmas when they're on clearance. I usually shop at Walmart also. I go there for groceries and everything else, so when it comes to Christmas items, I look there first. We have a Dollar General right down the road from our house. If I am in need of something quick, I will go there. I love their after holiday sales! I hit the 90% off this summer and bought a bunch of gifts for Christmas for hardly nothing!
