I know a lot of people have poor eye-sight, there are many selections of eye glasses available in the market (starting for the cheapest one to the most expensive) same with contact lens (hard/soft) However i wonder which is really better. Both of them have advantages and disadvantages. Glasses sometimes makes a person looks older. Contact lens sometimes im afraid to use especially when im sleepy... i feel that i might sleep while im wearing it during long working hours. I personally wear my glasses often than the contact lens. I guess its because im used to my glasses since highschool. Though during parties or events a lot of my friends says its best to wear contact lens. Lazer treatments are the best as they say but expensive. Do you have more advantages and disadvantages for both glasses and contact lens? Which do you prefer to wear often?

I think it's better, healthwise to wear glasses. COntacts have the risk of getting bacteria and germs into your eyes. but for looks, contacts my be better.

I started out wearing glasses when I was 5 years old. I'm sure I broke a lot of pairs over the years, especially when I was very young. I finally got a pair of contact lenses when I was about 28 years old. I have a very bad astigatism and they never made any before that. So then I worn contact lenses for many years, about 17, and started having problems up building up yucky stuff in my eyes and was pulling it out in very long strips. My eye doctor said it was because of wearing contacts for so long. He suggested, no, told me, that I shouldn't wear them anymore and I should go back to wearing glasses. So here I am now back to wearing glasses. I hate wearing glasses so after 3 years I tried to wear my contacts again, I had them soaking all this time and they are still good, but after 2 days of wearing them I got the yucky stuff again. The problem with that is it gets on the contacts and then I can't see. So I guess I'm stuck wearing glasses.

complicated - hows it
I think its better to have glasses rather than contact lens.the first and foremost reason is that you wear it outside and whenever you want you can remove it,but lens its not easy to remove all the time and extreme care must be taken while using it.also glasses to a certain extent also helps you to avoid dust from attacking your eyes,i dont think conatct lens does help in this regard.also contact lenses are much more costly compared to the glasses.on account of all these reasons,i would prefer glasses over contact lens.

i have both. glasses tend to be a bigger hassle though. you must clean them when they are smudged, and in the rain they are just dreadful!!! also, they can get fogged up. contacts will start irritating your eyes if u wear them long enough though. i like wearing my glasses when i am really tired, having a blah day, or sometimes just for a fashion statement. most of the time when i go out though i will wear my contacts because they seem easier to deal with. :-)

i think glasses are still the safest bet. contact lens users are prone to infections if the lenses are not properly washed...
