I got this booklet in the mail about all these cool tricks to use items around your house for stuff. They gave a few tips but for $40 you get the whole book. Well I tried the hair dyeing to cover grey and mayonnaise to soften my hair. Well Here I was trying this out which made a big mess and I sat there forever with this stuff in my hair dripping everywhere while the kids laughed at me. And what I got for my effort.... It looks like I have more grey and it is dryer! Do you have any tips that you know HAVE worked before I go to the store and get the real stuff?

I've never tried making my own hair dye - unless you count mixing Henna powder of course which I used to use with varying degrees of success. It looks like you have dark hair in your avatar (although sometimes small pics can be deceptive). If you do then you could try walnut oil which will enhance the colour and condition it as well. It won't cover the greys but if you enhance your natural colour it might make them less noticeable. I sometimes use Olive Oil as a conditioning treatment. Put it on (sparingly!) and then wrap your head in a hot, damp towel for half an hour or so. If you're going to use oil on your hair though then use it very sparingly because it is a nightmare to rinse out otherwise.

well my friend i have a few for you i hope they will be helpful to you. Greasy or oily hair will benefit from a rinse made with lemon balm, rosemary, lavender or mint. All these herbs will calm the scalp and reduce the sebum production. Red heads add highlights to their hair by using a strong infusion of calendula as a hair rinse A rinse made with sage will darken brown hair as will an infusion of rosemary. Both can also be used to darken gray hair, giving a brown tint.another one is a henna coloring will also work.pattie

I don't know what you used to cover gray, but sometimes it takes more than one application to do it. I think sage tea will darken hair but you have to use it several times to see the difference. Mayonnaise works on my hair. Did you wrap your head with a warm towel? That helps it absorb. Also, the shampoo you use may have stripped it out. Use a gentle shampoo (baby shampoo works) after treatment.

I am sorry you have had a hard time with your hair. I know how frustrating that can be. But I would suggest that you take vitamins if you arent already, that really does make a BIG difference. Sometimes B12 is also helpful for your hair to help with the dryness. I have used hot oil treatments in the past. I always use a good conditioner .... like matrix...biolage is one of the best! Something that doesnt just coat your hair but sinks in and helps it. I dont know if you have ever had a malibu treatment done at the salon but those are helpful about every 12 weeks or so and normally cost about 12.00. Plus I always think it it nice to go and get treated anyway. :) Good luck.

To be honest I haven't been to a salon in a few years. I never go and do anything on my hair. But as I get older I am not too happy with it and I think it is time to invest in something that will make me happy. Thanks

Oh my god, i cannot believe you paid so much money for such a thing. Why you didn't look on the interent? There are website like helium, where woman write a lot about beauty stuff, i think you might find something there. Just put to the search bar thing you are looking for. i am nto sure I can help you with dyeing hair, but for dry hair I use this mask. olive oil, yolk and honey. Mix everything together and leave on you ahir for 20 minutes or as long as possible,. Shampoo as usual.

I didn't actually pay for it. it was a flyer booklet that was promoting me to buy the whole book. I wouldn't pay that much money for a book that said stuff I couldn't actually get to work for me. Thanks for the tips. I am adventurous and try almost anything once.
