What's your least favorite part about Christmas?

One of my least favorite parts of Christmas would have to be financial difficulties. Most times, retailers pull out all the stops and advertise 24/7 and show you all these amazing gadgets that you have to buy. And, when you really can't afford them, it feels bad. At least that's the way I feel. For anyone that celebrates Christmas, it's supposed to be a very happy time. But, the saddest moments of my life, have happened near Christmas. For almost ten years, we had a really bad financial situation. And, most times, it only got worse at Christmas. For awhile, my spouse and I didn't even have enough money to give each other gifts. That changed once we had our baby. Now, it's sufficient that we are all together as a family. With or without gifts, it's still a happy time. What's your least favorite part of Christmas? Lack of money? Too many guests in your home? Having to clean up after all the Christmas gifts are opened? Not enough time to do everything you need to get done? Please share.

I have really come to dislike Christmas. I hate the money that I don't have but still spend on my kids. I hate people who have to party it up and get drunk. I don't even feel like decorating anymore. Christmas Eve is my favourite part - Mass, Christmas in the Park walk, and then our Christmas Eve box hunt. Then of course we watch whatever DVD is in that Christmas Eve box. It is pretty stressful for me since my husband likes to drink, as do my mother and my sister. I almost considered staying home this year instead of going to Mom's.

If staying home would make you happier, then do so. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't.

The christmas gifts. I love Christmas, but I would love Christmas 100 times more if there were no gifts. By gifts I mean both the gifts that you give as well as the gifts that you receive! I loathe gifts that are given out of obligation and because of the commercialization this happens often. For instance, I get gifts from my aunts and uncles simply because the cousins that are still kids get gifts so they feel like we have to also. So they'll get me smelly candles or lotion or soap. I HATE SMELLY STUFF. well, I hate most smelly stuff. So I end up throwing it away. they don't know me and they don't really want to get me anything so they get me something easy out of obligations that most people would like, except me! I hate that I had to get my brothers wife a gift simply because I couldn't not give her something. I don't get along with her and didn't know what to buy her so why should i have to get her something? Because I'd look like a jerk if I didn't. You should give because you want to. but not just because you have to.

I really had to think on this one, because I love the shopping, and the decorating, I love Christmas morning, having coffee with my man and opening our gifts, watching the parades, and then going to his families. I don't even mind cleaning up, or all the repacking of the decorations after. I guess the my least favorite part is that this will be my 3rd Christmas away from my family. I moved 1600 miles away and haven't had the chance to go back for Christmas, yet. It's hard for both of us to get off at the same time. But, my family understands and we mail gifts and call on Christmas. I miss being able to be with everyone at my mom's house, and seeing my daughters. But, his family has been wonderful to me and I get to spend time with his daughter, which helps.

I dislike the commercials that make your kids want everything they see. They seem to put any piece of junk with a character on it they can think of.

I have to agree with you. My least favorite part of Christmas would, indeed, be the financial stress involved in what Christmas has become. Black Friday is a nightmare now. People are out to get the most they can for the least they can and they stop at almost nothing. Case in point, my fiance went to Walmart on Friday. There was a camera that he went for specifically. He went early in the morning hoping to get in and out relatively quickly. He literally had some old lady in a Christmas sweater nearly beat the crap out of him over that damned camera! Fortunately, he's QUICK! He ran away from her rather than getting into an altercation, but she actually swung her purse at him! That's what gets me about Christmas, the way people act. It's SO grossly inappropriate. What ever happened to peace on earth and goodwill towards men? Does that stop when it comes to finding a bargain? For me, I do most of my shopping on e-bay or other online sites and stay out of the stores. I make some of my gifts, crocheting or with scrapbooking. I would rather receive things like that, that had thought behind them and effort. I could give a rat's patootie about how much money someone spent trying to impress me.

Hello there. My least favorite part about Christmas is the shopping for gifts. I enjoy shopping and I enjoy buying gifts for my friends. However, I do not enjoy shopping during the Christmas period because all the shopping malls will be crowded with many people. It's very difficult to shop in a crowded shopping mall. I learned my lesson and I am shopping earlier for Chrismas gifts this year. =D

I feel the same about it liek you. When you see all those things and you cannot afford them. i don't really care that much about me, but when I want buy something for my friends or fiancee , but just don't have neough monye to buy someting what will really shock him and he will be happy. I don't care about all the cleaning, or other things, that really don't bothers me, since the family is together. Just make the everyone happy.

The least favorite part about Christmas is that we never have a holiday for Christmas, for it's not a official holiday in China. But as the world come "flat", celebrating Christmas has became customs for years here. There are so many shows, porformences, gift on sale and gift exchanging things on list for us to do, but we just have no way to get out of our boring books...
