Where is the GOOD news?

I feel I am missing something whenever I hear or watch the news. It is all bad or unhappy stuff like murder, robbery, r.a.p.e, shootings, accidents. Don't you think that there is something missing there? Why do they only talk about the bad stuff, don't they realize we would like to hear some good news along with the bad. Isn't there any good news worth talking about more than 5 seconds? Does all news channels do this? Am I the only one who would like to hear some GOOD news for a change?

Newscasts can definitely be skewed in all sorts of ways. They definitely tend to report all the bad news and very little good news. My parents are often glued to news stations and then share with us all the bad they've heard during the week...it's overwhelming and depressing.

You are right, though sometimes I do hear good news, but it is rare because bad news sells more. Which is why I don't watch the news anymore, I go online and get my news from trusted resources and I have family and friends that find things that the media misses, like soldiers overseas playing with the children. That really touches my heart, because the tv, wants to just tell the bad part of the war..

Yeah you're right about that good news must come before the bad news. But somehow unconsciously when I read the newspaper I usually looked for the bad news before the good news. I do not know why but that is my usual tendency and I think majority of us do that too. I also think that is indeed why these news are arranged that way because the readers are doing it too.

I agree with you it seems like when there is bad news they go on and on about it on every newscast you can think of until you are tired of hearing it. I would love to hear good news for a change like a missing child was found unharmed and returned to their parents that is the kind of news I would like to hear.
