A former player was kidnapped and blindfolded. He was able to call a friend of his on his cellphone, whom was a police officer, and tell him that he had been kidnapped and was in a basement in the southern part of town. I cannot believe they left him with a phone. Then later in the day they took him to a bank to draw out money for him and they stayed outside! He went in and told the bank what was going on and they put him in a secure room and hit the robbery button. Within about 3 minutes the police were there, but did not get the people, but know one of the guys. He had done this years ago to a DJ and already done time for that. I am glad the guy is ok, and all worked out and hope they find the men that did it. I can't believe he would be stupid enough to do it a second time after the first failed. Hopefully he won't try it again before they find him.

It is amazing how dumb some people can be. Thankfully the man wasn't injured. Hopefully they will catch the guy fast before he can hurt someone else.

Gosh, I didn't hear about this one. I live in Ohio (and my son-in-law & daughter are alumni) so I can't believe somewhere along the line I wouldn't have heard lol. I sure hope they find the people involved. How horrible, and how stupid too! Bet that poor kid was scared. What a strange world anymore huh?!

It was on the Columbus news this morning. They would not tell the name of the former player to protect him.

Wow, that's kind of dumb. Really now, unless you were really threatening this guy, so sending him into the bank alone to withdraw money is really a stupid move. I mean, he had plenty of people to tell, and I'm glad he did tell someone or else he probably wouldn't have gotten away from those guys.

Wow, there is another case for worlds stupidest criminals. lol. I can't believe they sent him into the bank by himself! What did they think was going to happen? I'm sure they'll catch this guy, he seems pretty stupid.

LOL Talk about stupid criminals! Well, I sure hope they find him too.
And no offense here, but dont you think it might have been wiser to kidnapp a professional player insted of a university player?? Do you really think a guy in college would have all that much money? And this DJ that they did it too, again, how much money does this person think they have? I dont know about the profession, but seems like they wouldnt have a WHOLE lot of money. LOL Not to be worth the time of a kidnapper for ransom or what have you.
*deep breathe* What is the world coming too!? They would be sadly mistaken if they kidnapped me! Id have to rob the bank if they sent me in to get money. lol

Stupid is as stupid does, according to Forrest Gump. I am happy that the former football player is okay. He should count his blessings that nothing more happened to him.

I am also glad that he is okay. This case should be filed under America's Dumbest Criminals list. I know they have one. If the criminal had any sense, he would have checked him for a cell phone and he certainly would not have taken him to a public place and allowed him to go free. I would be really nice if all criminals were as dumb as him.
