What symbol would you choose for "truth"

Symbol of truth? - I chose this eye to be a symbol for the concept of "truth". Do you agree?

I find it very interesting to find out what symbols stand for, what is their significance... Every concept can be attributed a symbol. As we know, a symbol is not like a simple sign like the + for plus, or the cloud for rain...or the word for something we think about. The symbol is something deeper, because it depends on the mind and imagination of any of us! It's a creation...even if we didn't create it. Let's take the symbol for justice...which most frequently is denoted by a balance! That is true if only you think or feel a balance stands for "justice". Well, enough said...now...what i want is to tell me your symbol for "truth". My symbol for truth is an opened eye. Do you find it appropriate? If not, what is your symbol for "truth'?

dear klaudyou...my symbol for truth is the OM symbol...symbols, or words for things are non-different than the objects that they represent. in the material world each name for an object or symbol is seperate from it, but in the spiritual world a symbol or word for an object is non-different...they are exactly the same...that is why so many religions of the world have symbolic pictures of representations...stanzi

of course, a symbol represents what an individual or a group of individuals think it stands for. But that does not stop me to feel that symbol stands for something else, does it? A symbol simply "goes through" an individual!

Hi! Wonderful discussion! I find appropiated the eye opened for truth, but I think it remembers better the egyptian and masons' (and many other cultures) eye which symbolizes God, or "The one who watches everything" (I mean the symbol you can see in a dollar). SO yes, an open eye is the truth, but it is rather God's Truth, the truth of the one who knows everything (you can't see the truth if there are things hidden from your understandment). So it is very similar to the balance, I mean, only with the truth you can really make justice, that is why real justice is only God's thing in thoose cultures. So my symbol for truth would be the similar sense in a human behaviour, a paternal figure like Gandalf, Merlin or Odin, Cronos, etc... a character with human characteristics but with lot of wisdom and knowledge and experience, wich are in my opinion neccesary for knowing the real truth.
