I think what you are referring to is static electricity. Its electricity caused by friction and is mostly more annoying than painful. Its the same thing that makes your hair stand up after rubbing it with a ballon.
I too find this annoying. I tend to get it with different things but I can't remember anything I've got it with recently.

yes my little girls hair went up for some resaon she was doing a hand stand on the couch and she had hair hair frizzy i never knew that happened thanks for your response and happy posting

i dont know why put it happens you touch metal and your pushing trolley and i think it makes the electric shock i am only guessing

Now it is the dry weather here, so I often will have an electric shock. So I am very afraid of touching the metal products. Sometimes when I touch some people, they will also get the shock.

The past couple of days my kitty has been really static filled and every time I touch him I get shocked and he does too and I feel bad.
Electric Shock has to do a lot with the weather and atmosphere sometimes and this is a shocking time of year right now. ha ha.

Everytime I touch my car door I get a shock. It doesnt have to be a hot day anymore. It sometimes happens when I am at the cooker too. It can be so annoyng, and painfull....
