I have a problem with my body.. a big problem that makes me think on how and how really. I am a hypertension or with high blood pressure young. At my early age of 22, I am on this great problem. And in my case, it is so absurdly irritating because in my weight? huh!. Yeah I just weigh 56 kilos but i have this hypertension. I taught before i wont be having this kind of problem as to my elders because of my skinny body..The long list of dos and dont's prescribed y my doctor really make me disgusting. I really feel hopeless on how can I gain weight if I have many dont's to eat, foods that are very essential in order to gain weight. 140/110 of blood pressure really at my skin and bone body, haay. The doctor told me that I must just be having a regular of 110/70 BP. Do you know the easiest way to gain weight knowing that I am with hypertension?

First off, consult a doctor! I have hypertension, and the doctor gave me meds. He also restricted my diet to very little red meat (which inadvertently made red meat even tastier for me), and lots of veggies and fish. How tall are you? You can compute your ideal body mass index (BMI) using tools on the net. Maybe your doctor could recommend something, like eat more fish and veggies. Don't take my word for it though. :D

Hi! I'm giving advise as I have learned in Nursing. To gain weight, you must eat additional 500 calories per meal. When I say this, you shouldn't think of chugging on an extra burger or loads of sweets but try eating good carbs such as brown rice, whole wheat, grains...and try to search the net for the list of healthy carbs. Also, being skinny does not mean that you can't have hypertension. Your problem may be hormonal, stress-related, psycho-physiological, or even hereditary. But then, it's the doctor's job to diagnose haha not a nurse's.

Honestly, I think you should consult a nutritionist as this seems like a pretty serious thing. But here are my recommendations: You could really pump up your lean protein intake with tofu, soy, fish, grilled chicken, and things of that sort. Focus on eating healthy fats like nuts and dairy. Don't try to gain weight with fried foods! Your blood pressure is very high - are you taking any medicine or taking supplements? There's a supplement that you can get at xtend-life.com that is supposed to naturally reduce hypertension. They also have lots of good vitamins. Good luck, and really take this seriously. Hypertension is really no laughing matter!
