i was wondering what folks thought about immiragtion? growing up i didn't know many people that were 1st generation Americans, but the one or two that i did know i learned a lot from. not only about their lives and cultures about about ours. i learned more then any thing that there were a lot of things that we the Americans were both undereducated and miseducated about. Now both being grown and living up north which still seems to be more intergated i have experienced a great worth from sharing my life and life experiences with the many cultures that i've endured. life can not be just black and white so to speak. pro or con?

The small town where I've spent my entire life is full of immigrants, although many of them have passed away now, but there are many first and second generation Americans here. They've contributed so much to our culture. I think we tend to forget that we are a nation of immigrants; only the Native Americans aren't immigrants or descendants of immigrants! I know there needs to be something done about the illegal immigration problem but I think it's sad that all this debate seems to make some people anti-immigrant in general. I agree, life can't be just black and white, we can't forget the shades of gray, can we? Annie
